AMRITSAR, Sept 14:

The BSF today seized 17 kgof heroin worth Rs 85 crore inthe internatinal market, whichwas smuggled from Pakistan,near a border outpost in Punjab'sFerozpur sector.

The seizure was effectednear border outpost JhuggeNoor Mohammad this morning,BSF DIG R S Jaswal said.

The BSF personnel noticed

suspicious movement of somepersons from the other side nearthe border fence at around 0335hrs and challenged them, hesaid.

When they adopted aggres-sive posture, the BSF jawansfired at them in self-defence, theDIG said.(PTI)
