I have been working with the Edmonton Police service as a

liason- designing Hijabs for any Muslim recruits in the Police

force. It is Allah The Almighty's blessings that the hijab project

started by us in Edmonton has also been picked up by RCMP,

Ottawa,St Paul Minnesota and Hamilton police .I have been

designing these hijabs for these police forces- I am grateful to

Allah The Almighty that I was given this opportunity as an

Ahmadi Muslim to design hijabs for all the Muslim recruits in

Baitun Nur Mosque School Visit Calgary West – February, 2015 Asma Chaudhry

Baitun Nur Mosque of Calgary had a unique opportunity to host 110 Elementary school students, 15 parents and 5 teachers on February 4, 2015. By the Grace of

God, this is the largest number of students the Mosque has welcomed at one time, thus far. The event was organized by the Lajna of Calgary West Jama’at

with support from Calgary Taradale, Regional Amila and Maulana Umair Khan sahib. A few months previously, a grade three teacher had brought his class to

Baitun Nur Mosque for the day.

Remembering the eye opening experience and the warm welcome received, he desired to come back again this year - but with four times the number of

students. A true House of God beckons people towards itself and so, the Calgary Jama’at opened its door wide for the knockers

University of Calgary Faculty of Social Work Visits Bait Un Nur Mosque- March, 6th 2015

Alhamdolillah, students, professors, and the Faculty's Dean (around 60) arrived at Bait Un Nur between 1:00pm and 1:30pm on Friday, March, 6th 2015. They were greeted with warm welcomes, and seated in the Dining room. Around 1:40 pm Maulana Umair Khan sahib quickly gave an overview of the planned visit to the Mosque- starting off with the Friday Sermon and offering of ZuhrSalat, followed by a tour of the main prayer hall, and then returning to the Dining area for a presentation/refreshments/and any Q/A's.

The female guests accompanied a few Lajna members to the women's prayer area, similarly the male guests were accommodated on the men's side. The guests truly enjoyed the magnificence of the prayer hall.

Coming back into the Dining room, everyone enjoyed an assortment of sandwiches/fruit/and cookies. Maulana Umair Khan sahib began his presentation introducing the students to Islam and Ahmadiyyat. Afterwards, the guests had several questions about Jihaad/Whether Ahmadi's are permitted to perform the Hajj/ISIS/Salat.

Today May 9th, the Maple and Woodbridge Halqas arranged the Holy Quran Exhibition in Nobleton Library.

5 guests came and asked questions on different topics and showed interest to come and attend our programs in the future.they also gave their contact detail for contact purpose.

We gave a gift pack for the Library of Nobleton, which comprized of Holy Quran with English translation, 5 books, a DVD on The Holy Prophet (saw) and 10 flyers.

The DVD of the Holy Prophet (SAW) was running in the background throughout the course of the exhibition.Woodbridge halqa also distributed flyers in the neighbourhood yesterday and the poster was also posted on their notice board.

Light refreshments and gifts were arranged for the guests.Please pray for that we can hold more such programs in the future and that God Almighty give barkaat in our efforts.

Nepal Fundraiser Asma Chaudhry Calgary West On June 6th, 2015, Lajna Ima’illah

Calgary West held a Fundraiser for Nepal. The event took several months to plan and

donations were collected for Humanity First in order to help the earthquake-stricken

country of Nepal. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck on April 25, 2015, killing more

than 8200 and destroying 600,000 homes. By the Grace of God, the Fundraiser collected

$4,500 in donations with both guests and Jama’at members donating generously. The

event was planned, organized and executed by Lajna and Nasirat. Approximately 290

flyers and posters were distributed with the help of Itfal. Because of the commendable

effort of Lajna, posters were displayed at local libraries, community centers, gyms,

doctor’s offices, schools, coffee shops, grocery stores, bus stations, pizza shops and a

pharmacy. The fundraiser was held at Dalhousie Community Center and attracted both

Jama’at members and local community residents. More than 30 non-Ahmadi guests were

welcomed at the event. A few Lajna members donated beautiful hand-made crafts

including paintings, organic soaps and more. An eye-catching bake sale was the result of

contributions made by several Lajna members. A food stall consisted of butter chicken,

naan, rice and samosas. A few other activities and stalls included henna, games, balloon

animals, organic lemonade and a donation table decorated with Humanity First items.

The event exceeded expectations in terms of donations and support from local residents,

Alhumdullilah.
