april 2012 Hello and welcome to The Pentecostals of Sydney where you can experience new life in Christ! Paul says in 1 Cor 15:14 “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” It’s a fairly strong statement to make that one’s faith is vain or useless but Paul is merely reiterating that if Jesus did not rise from the dead after having been crucified, then He is not really God. If he did not resurrect from the dead that he can be accounted as a liar or madman. However, since he did rise after three days, like he said he would, then all of his claims can be trusted. There is more evidence for the historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus Christ than for just about any other event in history. Historical and documentary evidence is available to affirm that this event indeed took place. Paul then says…. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 1 Cor 15:20-21 (KJV) We too, will rise again in the resurrection just like Jesus did, who was the ‘firsfruits’. So let’s believe the words of Jesus because they can be trusted.. Pastor Stan Harvey April Handout Guide Page 2. Upcoming Events Page 3. Encounter Revisited Page 4. Calendar Page 5. POS Ministries

Hello and welcome to The Pentecostals of Sydney where you can experience new life in Christ!Paul says in 1 Cor 15:14 “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.”

It’s a fairly strong statement to make that one’s faith is vain or useless but Paul is merely reiterating that if Jesus did not rise from the dead after having been crucified, then He is not really God.

! ! ! 1 Cor 15:20-21 (KJV)

We too, will rise again in the resurrection just like Jesus did, who was the ‘firsfruits’. So let’s believe the words of Jesus because they can be trusted..

What An Encounter!Once again we were amazed at how God continues to outdo himself with this year’s Encounter conference. The presence of God was overwhelming and the ministry of Rev. Loammi and Sis. Tinu Diaz was outstanding, to say the least. Many lives were touched and transformed, including many turning from their sins, being baptized in the precious name of Jesus

and receiving His Holy Spirit. God spoke to the people in a very powerful and specific way as the Word of God was preached with great anointing and authority.

From the very first night, the sanctuary was filled with the hungry and the thirsty as an air of expectancy enveloped us. Worship took over as Pentecostals took their liberty in expressing their joy and love for Jesus. It would be that way throughout the weekend, only that the praise and worship grew deeper and with greater liberty as it went on. The choir and praise team blessed the congregation and it was topped off by the ministry of Sis Tinu Diaz with her singing and heartfelt worship that inspired everyone present.

The messages from Br. Diaz however, was the cornerstone for the whole weekend with titles that were intriguing, such as; “Your Best Life Later” and “I Am A Loser.” Yet the content was sharp, pertinent, Biblical and inspiring. In an age where there seems to be an overemphasis and often misleading slant of the prosperity theology, we were reminded of the truth in scripture that God’s ultimate concern is our eternity and what it’s going take to get there. The implications mean that you may not necessarily be able to get that dream house of have the three

cars and a boat. Yet God still loves you and calls you to a life of sacrifice with great joy.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

If ever I have witnessed this verse materialize it was through the ministry during Encounter. We look forward to this incredible weekend again, this time next year.
