Starting Travelport Smartpoint App™

Travelport Smartpoint App™ is launched by clicking this icon . It is part of the Custom Toolbar that resides within Galileo Desktop. This icon will be automatically installed onto the toolbar after a successful installation, and will also be located on your main Windows desktop. Below is the Initial screen you will see when Travelport Smartpoint App opens:

Travelport Smartpoint App comprises 2 windows:

The Terminal Window. This is where you type cryptic entries.

The PNR Viewer. The window on the left, displays the PNR. Smartpoint gives you the flexibility to work the way you want to. It allows you to use your native (cryptic) entries 100% of the time, or you can combine cryptic entries with point & click, and graphical screens.


Signing In

As smartpoint is accessed via an icon on the desktop, you can either log into Galileo (in the normal way) and then click the Smartpoint icon, or if you launch Smartpoint first, a pop-up box is displayed prompting you to sign in.

For Client IDs which require emulation, if you use Service Bureau to access another pseudo city code in your organisation, another box will be launched to indicate the corresponding pseudo city code if needed.

Closing Travelport Smartpoint App

To close the application, click on the found on the title bar of the Active window.

As this application sits on top of Galileo Desktop it will close Smartpoint, and you will be returned to Galileo Desktop. If at any time you want to minimise Smartpoint, you can use the shortcut key CTRL F12. Then to bring Smartpoint back to the forefront you can again enter CTRL F12.


Terminal Window

The Terminal Window is used to enter formats and obtain general responses as you do today. Commands and the responses will be returned into this window.

Once you click “enter”, the entry is moved to the TAB at the top and the response is displayed in the active window:


The window is interactive, allowing you to hover over the data in blue to see additional information, or if you wish to see this on screen you can click on it. As an example, clicking on the “@” symbol in the example below shows the ‘operating airline’ on screen directly below the flight details.

By clicking on this again you are returned to the standard availability screen.


Selling a Flight

You can use your normal cryptic entries to sell the flights. Eg. N1Y1 or you can make use of the point and click functionality in Smartpoint. By simply clicking on the booking class, you instruct the system to sell you one seat on that given class. To book multiple seats, select the drop down menu from the box at the bottom of the window and choose the number of passengers you want to book. (Any is the default and will book 1 seat).

This box also provides a short cut to check availability the day before or after, by simply clicking on the date in the box. This will automatically refresh your availability to the new date. Once the flight is sold it will appear in the PNR Viewer Window.


Adding a Name

The name must be entered via the normal cryptic entries you use today. You can then continue adding the rest of required data into your PNR, eg. Phone, Ticketing Time Limit etc or you can click on the name in the PNR Viewer screen to enable a Graphical screen, and complete the rest of the data in the window shown below.

Once you have the entered the required data, end and receive your PNR as usual.


Selling a Car or Hotel

You can type the standard cryptic entries in the “Active” Window or use the point and click functionality within the “PNR Viewer” window to invoke a graphical window. Click on the segment number.

The graphical box is displayed and you use the drop down menu to choose either “hotel” or “car”. The window changes depending on your choice, which allows you to add additional hotel/car modifiers into the request. You then press “Search”. Please note it will automatically populate the city/date and times (for car) from your flight itinerary.

After clicking “Search” the respective results screen are shown.


Hotel Results

The result screen provides a short cut to check availability for the day before or after, by simply clicking on the date in the box, or changing the number of nights in the drop down box. You would click “Update” to refresh your availability to the new date. All screens in Smartpoint are interactive, which means you can click or hover over data to see additional information.


The “yellow” text will take you into new screens. (screens shown below)

Hotel Name – will display the hotel description

Rate – will display the HOC inside screen

Hotel Address – will launch Travelport Hotel Images Hotel Description Screen

By clicking on the yellow text it will take you into the relevant paragraph to read the details, or you can click <<Back to Hotels>> to move back to the previous screen.

You can then click <<Back to Hotel Description>> to move back to the previous screen.


Hotel Complete Availability Screen

Click on the rate to move into the booking screen, or click <<Back to Hotels>> to move back to the previous screen.


Booking Screen

You can move back to the previous screen by clicking <<Back to Room Rates>>, or you can sell the room by clicking <<Sell Room>> or <<Advanced Sell>>. Advance Sell will allow you to add additional modifiers.


Advanced Sell Screen

Once the hotel is sold it will appear in the PNR Viewer Window.


Car Results

The result screen provides a short cut to check availability the day before or after, by simply clicking on the date in the box, or changing the number of days in the drop down box. You would click “Update” to refresh your availability to the new date.

All screens in Smartpoint are interactive, which means you can click or hover over data to see additional information.

The “yellow” text will take you into new screens. (screens shown below)

Supplier Name – will display the car vendor description

Rate – will display the booking screen with rate rules


Vendor Description Screen

By clicking on the yellow text it will take you into the relevant paragraph to read the details or you can click <<Back to Cars>> to move back to the previous screen.

You can then click <<Back to Location Description>> to move back to the previous screen.


Booking Screen with Rate Rules

You can move back to the previous screen by clicking on <<Back to Cars>>, or you can sell the car using a <<Sell Car/s>> or <<Advanced Sell>>. Advance Sell will allow you to add additional modifiers.


Advanced Sell Window

Once the car is sold it will appear in the PNR Viewer Window.


PNR Viewer Window

The PNR Viewer provides an instant, reactive view of the PNR as changes and additions are made. It shows all relevant PNR information and is grouped into sections that can be accessed via a simple mouse click on the associated Quick Access Button, highlighted below.

Quick Access Buttons in PNR Viewer

Except for passenger names and itinerary, all PNR fields can be displayed at any time via the configurable PNR Quick Access blue buttons. Clicking on a Quick Access button will display all of the PNR data applicable to that PNR field. Once a specific field is retrieved, it can be closed by clicking on the same Quick Access button again, or by hovering over the data field and clicking the Close button. As an example:

displays the complete PNR information with all fields

displays the Phone Field information.


Shortcuts & Quick Commands

To help improve efficiencies further Smartpoint has numerous keyboard shortcuts along with quick commands such as: #TRAM – Launches Travelport Rooms and More #VT – Launches Viewtrip for a completed booking #SEAT – Display a graphical seat map for the booked flights ALT+N – Creates a new TAB in the current Terminal window CTRL+ENTER - Shows the response in a new Tab For a full list please refer to the user guide.
