FORZA HORIZON 3 (RACING)• This game uses the graphic style urban with the landscape and

surroundings such as the jungle. This is used to make the game look more appealing to their audience. Graphics are also used for the mini-map shown on the bottom left of where the player is. The map also shows how far there destination is.

• On the right hand side is a speed dile to show how fast the player is going and when they are at max speed. There is also the name tags that appear over the other cars to show each different players gamer tag and to show that they are a re person playing the game.

FIFA 17 (SPORT)• This game uses graphic such as the bars on the bottom left and right are

used to show what player the gamers are at the moment and can sometimes show what strategy's they change to. The red triangle is used to indicate who the gamer is at the moment.

CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS 3 (FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER)

• This is the graphic hud of the game. On the right is the name of the gun the player is using and how much ammunition it has left. The right also contains the equipment and how much the player has. It also includes score streaks exclusive to this franchise and a special ability.

• The left has the kill feed, time and game score to and at the top left is the mini-map with a little compose. This is informative for player to know how much time is left and what they have left to use in their current life

• The middle of the screens has a skull design that pops up every time a teammate dies.

SECTOR ANALYSIS • A lot of games in the gaming sector had a hud design this design will

change on the genre of the game and each genre will include different aspects in the hud. Huds are one of the main parts of gaming. Now only some games may have game modes that don’t include a hud or the option to turn it off.

• Some games also focus more on the landscape and the vast scenery that can spread for miles. This helps improve the appeal of games to its audience. All three of the examples I have chosen use a mini-map. Two of the examples both have a scoreboard.

FORMULA 1 (SPORT)• On the top right is the name of the channel this is being aired on and

underneath that shows that this was live coverage of the event. On the bottom right is the name of the driver on the screen and the time he is doing for the practice run before the race.

• On bottom left is the initials and the name of the sport. The top left is the position of each driver and how far their time is from the leading driver. The different colours next to the drivers names represent the different teams. And the grid also shows if they are on the track or in the pit lane.

• Above that is the time left of the practice run and what practice run they are on.

FAST AND FURIOUS 7 (THRILLER/CRIME FILM)

• An urban style of graphic is used during this part of the film as the car jumps between 3 buildings. The graphics are arranged so that when the car jumps the colour of the sun shines in the background and makes the car the point of interest.

• Graphic can also be the shot of the ground that was taken showing some buildings, pools grass and more. The graphics here are used to make the scene more intense.

THE JEREMY KYLE SHOW (COMEDY, TALK SHOW)

• The digital graphics shown here are to inform anyone who is having the listed problem. The subject can change though many different topics. This is also used to inform people of how to contact them if they seek his help and the requirements needed.

• During the show the text at the bottom of the screen is used to inform the audience of what the topic is about and what happened to the guests for them to be on the show. The text also shows who will be up next on the show and what their situation is about.

Page 11: Unit 13 task 1c

SECTOR ANALYSIS • Certain genres such as sport for moving Image use a lot of text to inform

viewers watching on TV the score, who is in the lead, player or driver bio and more. These are used to be informative for the viewers and to keep them updated on what is going on.

• Other genres of moving image such as action, thriller and adventure use digital graphics to make an impact on the show or film. They can also be used to show what the film or show is about. Two of the examples I have used are to e more informative while the third example is used to look good.

CASINO ROYALE (THRILLER/ACTION)

• The cover for this film uses digital graphics such as the car which is an iconic vehicle in the James bond franchise and is shown to be his car. Another graphic is the 7 that has been made to look like a gun this is a good way to show that the movie contains violence.

• The transparent women also has a picture of a casino with that has the name of the film on it. This shows that the main point of this film will be about that casino. Another graphic is the range of pictures of different scenes compiled together.

E-MAGAZINE NEWS ARTICLE (LIFESTYLE)

• This news article on a e-magazine is text only. The main focus is on the text and the subheadings for each topic. The design is made to make the headings for the subjects stand out then have the text underneath.

• There is a basic easy to read colour scheme of black and white. The main heading is in white with a blue background for it to be seen. The main or most popular part of the depends on the interests of the audience and what topic catches their eye more.

Page 15: Unit 13 task 1c

BATTLEFIELD 1(FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER)

• The sparks on the top left are a graphic used to show that this is a war based game or that there is a battle going on. The bottom of the case shows the companies involved with the production of the game and the rating.

• The man point of the cover is the solder holding the weapons. The weapons instantly show the audience that the game will contain violence. The title of the game is spread though the middle covering the part of the solider.

• The method used for the title could be used for people to pay more attention to it as it is covering the main part of the cover.

Page 16: Unit 13 task 1c

SECTOR ANALYSIS • Digital publishing graphics are used to bring audiences or customers in

with what they see. This is a big thing for how games get sales. People look at the display of the cover more than the game or even film.

• Graphics for publishing can be used for educational or informative purposes as well with the way they are laid out. Two of my three examples focuses more on being eye-catching while the other one focuses on being informative.

Page 18: Unit 13 task 1c

OVERALL ANALYSIS • Overall each sector use digital graphics in different ways as well as the

same. Some focus on informing the audience and educating them. Others focus more on catching their attention and keeping a grasp on the audience. Some sectors try to be both informative and eye-catching.

• The examples show that in some sectors digital graphics are used to help sell products, help it run smoothly or help it attract the audience. Publishing graphics are used to appeal to people. Gaming graphics are used to make sure it runs smoothly and is playable. Moving image graphics are used to be informative, make scenes look good and more.
