Garage Sale

Saturday, May 14, 2011, dawned cool and partly overcast. The weather didn’t daunt a group of WHWB volunteers who set up all of our accumulated “treasures”. Gracie, in costume, and her grand-daughter drew attention as they stood on the corner with a sign. Shoppers snapped up house ware, home decor, and craft bargains until

the drizzle forced us to pack up earlier than planned. Thank you to Carol & Cris Criswell, Nancy & Fred Staup, Gracie Lake, Sue Plog, Sandy Mackenzie, Frances Scott and Richard Zwetzig for setting up, helping customers, packing up and cleaning up the parking lot. Even with the drizzle we earned over $600.00.

Kati Crystal The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado

Linda, Thank you for an amazing gift bag we received while staying at the Ronald McDonald House. The preemie outfits are adorable. We have been truly blessed to have a place like the Ronald house. Thanks again, Jocelyn, Jesse, Lydia and Isabella

Dear Volunteers, We would personally like to thank you for your lovely outfits, blankets, crosses, teddy bears etc. that you donate to the fetal demises here at SPMC. It makes a big difference being able to dress the infants in beautiful clothes for the families to remember. We realize that each hand made item takes many hours to make. Thank you so much for all you do to make a difference for our patients. Please let everyone know we appreciate everything! Love, Sheryl M. R.N. Fetal Demise Committee.

SEASONAL PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE

Many of the items created for our layettes are made of the same weight fabric all year round. This schedule is an attempt to help the volunteers who make seasonal items such as fleece sweat suits or holiday themed garments plan their seasonal sewing so that it gets to the babies at the appropriate time. It often takes several months for items to move through our pipeline and into the completed layettes. Completed ready to use/wear items turned in at the beginning of month will usually be put into layettes and delivered at the end of the month. Those that need fasteners take another month or two before they make it into layettes.
