NOV. LOVING MEMORY CANDLES We have “Loving Memory Candles” available for purchase for $6.00 per candle. These candles offer an opportunity for you to remember and pray for deceased relatives and friends. The candles are left in the Church, and will be placed in front of the altar and lit for the All Souls Day Mass on November 2. You may write the names of your loved ones on your candle, and they will be remember at all the daily Masses that week. You can purchase the candles now at the Shepherd Staff office during business hours.
La última línea del Evangelio de ahora del libro de San Mateo contiene una cita mui conocida por Jesucristo. Cuando los fariseos le ponían una trampa asiéndole esta pregunta, acaso está bien pagarle impuestos del censo al Cesar o no? Jesu-cristo contestaba diciendo de quien es la imagen que está en las monedas Romanas? Ellos respondieron simplemente de Cesar.
La respuesta de Jesucristo a lo que ellos dijeron es muy co-nocida por nosotros. Entonces denle a Cesar lo que es de Ce-sar y a Dios lo que es de Dios. La contestación del Señor es más perceptiva de lo que nosotros pensamos, y nos da otro mensaje uno que debemos recordar siempre. Si somos segui-dores de Jesucristo y si trabajamos para ser sus discípulos, El Señor ala mejor nos pregunta de quién es la imagen que tie-nen en su Alma? Hemos aprendido del primer capítulo de Gé-nesis que Dios nos creó a su imagen.
La moneda a la mejor debe de tener la imagen de Cesar, pero también cada uno de nosotros estamos estampados con la Imagen de Dios. Por eso Jesucristo esta diciendo que la moneda le pertenece a Cesar, pero que cada uno de nosotros le pertenecemos a Dios. De acuerdo a eso nosotros debería-mos de ser todas las cosas que Jesucristo quiere que seamos.
En realidad ese es el modo de vivir como unos buenos admi-nistradores de las cosas de Dios o como buenos Discípulos. Ese es el modo de vivir cuando reconocemos que Dios está en cada uno de nosotros. Nosotros nos suponemos ponernos al servicio de Dios, y servirnos unos a los otros. Eso es lo que en realidad quiere decir, entonces paguen a Cesar lo que es de Cesar. Y a Dios lo que es de Dios.
The last line of today’s Gospel Reading from St. Mat-thew contains one of the more well known of Jesus’ quotes. When asked a bit of a trick question by the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not?” Jesus responds by asking them whose image is on their Roman coins, to which they respond simply “Caesar’s.”
Jesus’ response to their reply is known to most of us, “Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” The Lord’s answer is far more perceptive than we might think, and it gives an-other message to us, one we must always remember. If we are followers of Christ, and if we work to be His disciple, the Lord might ask us, “Whose image is on your soul?” We have learned in the First Chapter of Genesis that God created us in His image.
The coin may be stamped with Caesar’s image, but each of us is stamped with God’s image. Thus, Jesus is implying that the coin may be Caesar’s but each of us belongs to God. In that regard we should be striving to be all those things to which Jesus called us.
That is in effect what a stewardship way of life is — recognizing that God is in each of us, we are to place ourselves in service to God and to one another. That is what is really meant by “Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.”

The Living and Giving appeal is financial obligation to each parish in the state, It supports the Diocese and the Bishop. Silent Auction on a used Mastercraft saddle handcrafted by American Saddlery in the U.S.A. According to Lou Talbert, this saddle would be valued at $1,499.00 new, and $995.00 used. The biding is currently at $500.00. The saddle was given to Fr. Hugo by seminarian John Trost, son of Randy and
Michelle Trost-Hall. In turn, the revenues from the auc-tion will be donated to help St. Anthony Church reach its goal for the Living & Giv-ing in Christ Ministry Appeal. Mystic Monk Coffee & Tea for Sale
The Carmelite monks at Clark, WY are in the business of roasting coffee beans and selling their coffee, both whole bean and ground, to customers nation-ally. The revenue from the coffee sales is used to help build a new monastery 17 miles northwest of Meteeteese for their current 18 monks. Their coffee and tea is used at our Sunday morn-ing breakfast. Both the coffee and tea is available for sale at the St. Anthony Gift Shop at the Shepherd's Staff. The coffee and tea make wonderful gifts.
Alumni Homecoming Event October 29-30 weekend.
Help spread the word to all Newman Center Alumni you know who will be heading to Laramie for UW Homecom-ing. On Sunday, alumni are invited to worship with us at the 8:30 or 11:00 a.m. Liturgy of the Eucharist. Brunch will be served between Liturgies. Tri-Parish Bridge Builders The first meeting of the Tri-Parish Bridge Builders will be Thursdays 7pm, at the St. Anthony Parish Center.
