Who would be the audience for your media product?

Before making my music magazine, I had to ensure my magazine would apply to the largest possible target audience, therefore I aimed it at both genders from the ages of 16-25, who would be interested in the R&B genre. This would automatically increase distribution and sales. Therefore, I conducted and handed out a questionnaire to 10indivudals who are interested in the R&B industry and fit the required age range for whom my magazine is aimed at. The purpose of this was to highlight my strengths, weaknesses and what I could improve on.Here shows an example of the questionnaire I

conducted

I handed out my questionnaire out to 5females and 5males. This was because my magazine was created to be unisex. The aim was too see if I was successful in representing this target audience. After all questionnaires were completed, I analysed each answer and compared. Here are two examples of the completed questionnaires one from a male and one from a female.

FEMALES FEEDBACK

MALES FEEDBACK

Here I recorded some of the statistical answers visually, to see the difference and compare the feedback given.

This highlights my magazine has been a huge success as over 90% of my feedback states they would purchase this magazine.

Feedback

statistics

Again this illustrates the magazines achievement as it shows my front cover appeals to my target audience.

I also asked within the questionnaire to describe the magazine in 3 words, here show some of the answers:‘Bubbly, creative, striking’‘Eye-catching, professional, fun’‘Really very good’

I also asked if there were any further comments they wished to add, again here show some of the answers:'Fantastic layout'‘Excellent quality images’'Very Professional'

I feel my music magazine has overall been a success. The feedback from my interviews has helped me see what I could have improved on if given the chance to re-do the task again. Before creating the music magazine I set myself an aim. This being, ‘to create a music magazine which will attract and inspire young people interested in the R&B. genre’ After looking at my feedback I feel I have reached my aim as I have had some positive answers which make me feel my work has been an achievement.
