The target audience for our film would be those in the teenage social group, the main reason for this is that whilst conducting our audience research (a questionnaire and interviewing a group of people consisting of different age groups) we found out that the majority of the younger male students enjoyed action movies and comedies, whilst more girls enjoyed horrors, and people aged between 15-18 would rather watch horror’s/slasher’s as they enjoy the ‘thrill’. Another reason why teenagers were our target audience is because as we ourselves are teenagers we are able to relate to them.

As slasher/horror films consist of many violent/bloody content therefore we are giving our film a 16 certificate.

Although we have gathered that teenagers are our target audience, I believe that our film would be more attractive to girls as all the protagonists in our movie are females. Many girls might be able to relate to the things which occur in our film, for example a sleepover, so this may appeal to them more.
