BABY BALLET (Child Only) Baby Ballet encourages self-expression and fun! Children learn to respond to music, improve balance and agility, and express their feelings through dance. A variety of music and props such as scarves and teddy bears keep your little one entertained. Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration. Suggested Attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus. Students may dance barefoot or wear ballet shoes. (Students can-not dance in socks or tights alone, must be barefoot or wearing ballet shoes) Instructor: CLAP Arts PRE-BALLET A first introduction to ballet - children learn basic ballet positions, steps and routines. They dance to a variety of ballet and age-appropriate music, use props and have lots of fun! Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration. Instructor: CLAP Arts

TAP/BALLET This tap/ballet class introduces children to the basics of both ballet and tap, combining creative movement, grace and balance. Students learn basic tap steps such as shuffles, rhythm exercises, and springs, and elementary ballet including plies, tendus, passes, and the basic ballet positions. Instruction advances with age and ability of participants. Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration. Suggested Attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus. Students are encouraged to bring Tap and Ballet shoes, but may also wear closed-toe shoes for Tap and bare feet for Ballet. (Students cannot dance in socks or tights alone, must be barefooted or wearing shoes.) Instructor: CLAP Arts HIP HOP & TUMBLING Explore both hip hop & tumbling. Children will learn basic hip hop dance moves to fun kid's music while building confidence, coordination, and rhythm. In tumbling they will have fun doing log rolls, bridges, bear walks, balancing, stretching and jumps. Kids will perform on last day of class. Instructor: Dance Force

DANCING TOGETHER (Parent/Child) Children learn the beginning elements of dance in a fun and creative learning environment. The instructor guides your child through listening, moving activities and dances using scarves, teddy bears and other props. Please wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. BEGINNING PIANO AND KEYBOARDS Students will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/keyboard. Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales, all with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Keyboards will be provided for students in class. However, students will need a keyboard at home for practice. Recommended resources for purchasing or renting a keyboard will be provided at the first class. Instructor: SJG School of Music

BEGINNING YOUTH VOCALS This beginning course helps students learn healthy vocal techniques and how to use their voice to its fullest potential. Learn breath control and voice placement, tone, phrasing and pitch as well as basic music theory, building confidence, and picking audition material, all while having fun! Students exercise their vocal muscles through group and individual work for personal enjoyment, auditioning and performing. Instructor: SJG School of Music

JUNIOR SINGERS This class explores basic singing skills through creative and fun games. Students learn the basic elements of breath control, voice placement, tone, phrasing and pitch in a fun-oriented format. In this low-stress environment, students who chose to sing on their own will gain the benefit of getting immediate direction. Instructor: SJG School of Music

SOCCER PRE-SOCCER Teaches the basic techniques of the game and builds self-esteem through participation and fun soccer activities. SPORTS MINI GYM STARS A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital. Instructor: Dance Arts Academy

TENNIS-ADVANCED/BEGINNING Must have previous tennis experience. The Advanced Beginning class will build on the fundamentals of beginning tennis. Racquet skills, coordination exercises and fundamentals are emphasized; each class builds on the previous lesson. Have fun and play tennis with a group of players like yourself. Tennis balls will be provided and are included in class fee. No black soled shoes allowed. Instructor: Todd Dissly Athletics

KINDER CAMP KINDER CAMP @ KIRK COMMUNITY CENTER This camp prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun. CAMP SAN JOSE CAMP SAN JOSE @ WILLOW GLEN At Camp San Jose your child will participate in an unforgettable summer day camp experience combining summer camp traditions with enriching and educational activities. Children will play fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, sing funny songs and embark on a weekly field trip. Activities incorporate educational features disguised in fun and entertaining activities and projects. Price includes a low leader to child ratio of 1:10, field trips, a Camp San Jose shirt, skill building, new friendships, disguised learning and much more! Campers need to bring water, lunch* and sunscreen each day. *Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships and payment plans. CAMP LEADERSHIP The Leadership Camp is designed for ages 13-17 years old that need a more mature camp. This is a typical FUN camp but with age appropriate activities. Campers get to become role models to the younger campers and take on a more responsible role by planning and leading fun and exciting camp games and activities. Working closely with Recreation Staff, they will learn to be an important part of the team in camp! Camp will bring a sense of pride in helping others and a whole lot of fun! SPECIALTY CAMPS (JUNE 13-17) Minion Camp: Join Gru and his Minions as they embark on a week long adventure of exploration, mystery solving and science experiments. Margo, Edith and Agnes will share in the fun as this camp includes active games, craft projects and a fun venture to Minion time! Skyhawks Basketball: This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. Using our progression curriculum, staff focus on the whole player-teaching respect, teamwork, and responsibility. An active week of passing, shooting, dribbling, and rebound-ing makes this a popular program. All participants receive a ball, t-shirt and a player evaluation. Participants should wear appropriate cloth-ing and gym shoes; bring a lunch, snack, and a water bottle for full day camps and bring two snacks and a water bottle for half day camps. All Sorts of Sports: Students register for one or two days a week after school sports specific programs where they will learn the skills to feel comfortable on the field or court. SPECIALTY CAMPS (JUNE 20-24) Ocean Adventures with Dory: Things are getting a little fishy at Willow Glen this summer because Dory is coming to town. In our Ocean Adventures camp participants will dive in for a week filled with underwater fun. Campers will learn about the ocean habitat and the creatures who call it home. Activities will include crafts, hands on learning exercises, games and of course learning to speak whale. Pre-Engineering Mine, Craft, Build, using Lego®: Bring Mine craft to life using tens of thousands of LEGO®! Build engineer-designed projects such as a motorized Creeper, a portal to the Nether, and a moving Mine craft! Create your favorite Mine craft objects with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. Whether you are new to Mine craft and LEGO or a seasoned veteran, you'll be hooked on the endless creative possibilities. Engineering FUNdamentals: Mine, Craft, Build Lego®: Bring Mine craft to life using LEGO! Build a motorized walking Creeper, a terrifying Ghost, and a motorized Mine cart! This project-based camp, designed by Play-Well instructors, combines the basic format of our core engineering-themed programs based on the world of Mine craft. Students will explore real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture while building their favorite Mine craft objects. Students will have a blast, even without any prior experience with Mine craft or LEGO.

Dinosaur Days Camp: Rrrooaarr!!!! Dinosaur Days are here! Bring your Paleontologist to the land of Willow Glen to experience life among the dinosaurs. Your paleontologist will go on fossil digs, build dinosaur models, enjoy special scavenger hunts as well as dinosaur stories, games and activities. To top it off, the last day of camp they will become their favorite dinosaur at our dinosaur party.

Skyhawks Tennis: In Skyhawks Sports tennis programs, players learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys and serves during a series of drills designed to teach skills in a fun and dynamic way. Athletes also learn the rules and etiquette that make tennis an exciting game. Due to limited court space, these programs fill quickly. All participants receive a t-shirt and a player evaluation.

Air Attack Flag Football (Non-Contact): Ready to play some football? Whether you are a beginner or advanced player, the drills taught at this program will help you improve your game. Our non-contact programs are the perfect introduction to football. Emphasis will be on proper conditioning and warm-ups, footwork drills, agility, passing, receiving, and game strategies. Feel good sending your kids to a football pro-gram that’s in a fun and safe environment with a motivating and positive coaching staff. This program is perfect for boys and girls ages 7 - 9 and 10 - 13. Participants are grouped by age and ability.

Around the World in 5 Days Camp: Is your little Jetsetter ready for the adventure of a lifetime? During the fun filled week your child will have the opportunity to experience camp activities from other cultures. Participants will begin the week creating their very own Passports and will then set off to visit the world through native crafts, foods, games, dances and folk tales from distant lands. Snack and beverage service included.

Origami Camp: This visual arts program uses a variety of art media that will inspire students in the creation of their own origi-nal works of art! Instruction includes visual arts vocabulary and the basic elements of art. Students will also learn about the arts in different cultures and traditions, gaining a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

Tennis Rallyball Camp: The tennis camp is designed to be beginner friendly and to engage young children in tennis as a team sport, while having fun with their friends and learning basic skills. Tennis has never benn easier to play and learn. By using NEW progression tennis balls and a games-based approach to learning, your child will be able to rally the ball in the first hour of the very first class! The camp format includes station rotations where campers will be exposed to a variety of tennis skills and games. Campers will be placed on teams and play for Team Of The Week and Camper Of The Week. A strong emphasis will be placed on attitude, effort and sportsmanship.

Skyhawks Flag Football: Flag Football is the perfect introduction to America’s Game. Hit & Run Baseball/Softball Camp: The HIT & RUN Baseball/Softball camps offered by the National Academy of Athletics offer beginner to intermediate players the opportunity to build a solid foundation in both Baseball and Softball. SPECIALTY CAMPS (AUGUST 1-5) Secret Life of Pets Camp: Every day in San Jose, thousands of kids set off to school or camp leaving their beloved pets at home. For the animals, the real day starts after the creatures on two legs leave. That’s when the pets begin their own daily routine: hanging out with each other, trading stories about their owners, and auditioning adorable looks to get better treats. In this adventure filled week, participants will get to experience life through their pet’s eyes. Campers will get to live the antics that their cats, dogs, birds and even fish are up to while they are away. Activities will include creating a the ultimate treat, building an inside dog obstacle course, bird keep away and of course lots of off leash physical activity. Comic Book Creation: Designed for younger students, this class allows participants to create their own digital comic book. Utilizing Comic Life software, instructors would teach students basic computer functions and software operation. From there the class begins developing characters and plot. When class is finished students will have a complete short comic to share with family and friends! Stop Motion Animation: Participants work in small groups to learn how to story-board, create characters to animate, learn the stop-motion animation software and then get to work creating a short animated film. Characters can be LEGOs or other toys or their own design. “R.S.V.P. –Run, Speed, Vertical, Power” Camp: Developed as pre-season training camp for young athletes in all sports, this camp is de-signed to maximize your running form and improve your speed and power. ENRICHMENT/EDUCATION

News & Views* The group meets to discuss local, state, national and world topics. The topics are often those found in the newspaper, magazines, or on television. The intent is to share interpretations of these events. This is a social group, and topics are discussed for your enjoyment.

Billiards* Join other active adults who enjoy a game of pool and meet new friends. The Center provides pool tables, pool sticks and cues. Tables are first come first served. Participants pay $1 for 2 Hrs and $2 for 2+ Hrs of play. Pay in the office before play begins.

Bridge* Bridge is great exercise for your brain! Come on out and join other active adults who enjoy playing a non-competitive game of bridge.

Chess* Pull up a chair and let the games begin. The group provides their own chess board and pieces. New members are always welcome. Players must know how to play chess.

Game Day* Game day is an open day to play any game you would like to play with the group, or you may use this time to set up a group to play games like Kings in the Corner, Pinochle, Dominoes, Cribbage, or any dice game.

GAMES

Pinochle* If you enjoy making friends while exercising your mind, join this fun and friendly group. Come and practice your skills with others. You just need to walk in and be ready to play. We are recruiting new players, so don’t be shy and come play!

Social Bingo* Come join others and have fun playing Bingo and socializing. Participants pay $1.00 in the office before Bingo begins. Bingo will take place in the Multi-Purpose Room during the summer.

Enhance Fitness Becoming fit just became a whole lot more fun! This is an evidence based group fitness class designed specifically for active adults (50+) that improves your balance, flexibility, bone density, endurance, coordination, mental sharpness and decreases your risk of falling through a structured exercise program that is adaptable to all fitness levels from beginning to advanced.

Get Fit While You Sit* Whether you walk or wheel, this fitness program is a good start. This program uses bands and dowels for strength and coordination. Participants are encouraged to go at their own pace. Hope Services partners with us to offer this class at Willow Glen.

Stretching/Body Conditioning* Stretching is a great form of physical exercise that improves circulation, increases flexibility and helps relieve stress. This class also focuses on body conditioning. Mats are provided for this class.
