NEWS FROM THE PTO
VOLUTEERS EEDED….
To help at the Market Day sale this Saturday December 15th at Meadowview School.
Volunteers are needed to help pack and distribute orders, beginning at 7:45 am, until
approximately 11:30 am.
Refreshments will be provided, and children are welcome, too!
By giving a little bit of time this Saturday, you are helping Woodview earn its share of
D46's Market Day income this year. It's one of our most important fundraisers, and we
couldn't participate, if not for parent volunteers!
Please contact Cheryl Wilgen at 630-291-4509 or Megan Wright at 847-757-7842 for
more information.
Thank you!
NEWS FROM THE PTO
Reminder…..
We will be assembling boxes for the Holiday Cookie Exchange for the Woodview
staff this Monday, December 17th.
If you are able to contribute 2-3 dozen cookies, please deliver them to Woodview:
Monday 12/17 by 9am.
Thanks to all bakers for helping us make the holidays just a bit sweeter for our
wonderful staff!

make their special purchases during their lunch hour this week!
MANY THANKSMANY THANKSMANY THANKSMANY THANKS
Attention, your attention, please!
The Box Tops contest ending date has been EXTENDED by popular demand!
The contest will now end AFTER winter break so you can have a chance to collect even MORE Box Tops
from family members and friends over the holidays.
The contest will now end on Friday, January 11th
!! Winners will be announced the following
week! Please keep bringing in your trimmed Box Tops and try to help your homeroom win.
Prizes for 1st
and 2nd
place homeroom winners will be awarded, plus the 1st
place winner will get to
display the TROPHY!! Students, keep your eyes on WBC for the Box Tops Lady to give contest updates
and prize information! Holiday meals and parties often come with Box Tops, so please tell everyone you
have ever met (well, almost everyone!) that you will gladly take their Box Tops during the holiday
gatherings to help Woodview School.
Good luck to all!
Any questions please contact Virginia Fitzgerald at [email protected]
Flu Season and School
To help keep flu outbreaks to a minimum, we are asking that all students and families follow these simple steps:
1. PLEASE keep sick children home from school until they are fever-free for 24 hours without medication,
such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen. (fever = 99.5 degrees or above) and their cough is gone!
2. Teach your children to COVER THEIR COUGHS and wash hands often. Hand sanitizers are also effective.
3. The CDC recommends that all school-age children receive flu vaccinations. Seasonal flu vaccines are available
now!
4. Prepare in advance. Have alternative childcare available if you cannot stay home or pick up your sick child at
school. SICK students cannot remain at school!
5. PLEASE report your child’s absence to school and tell us the symptoms. (Just saying “sick” doesn’t help us track
illnesses)
6. Make sure we have current phone numbers to reach you and your emergency contacts.

Clip & save Tyson Project A+ labels.
Turn in the labels to school. Your
school redeems them for cash. Each
label is worth $.26.
Here is another way to earn money for
Woodview. Simply clip the Box Tops
from your favorite General Mills
products and send them to school with
your child!
Chef Tony says, “Chilly
winter weather is here—
Market Day has some
delicious dinner options
that will warm you from the
inside!”
Did you know that Woodview
collects Campbell’s soup labels? The
labels are worth points and must have
the UPC code in order to be used. The
points can be redeemed for books, gym
equipment, and other items for our
school. Each teacher has a box in the
classroom to collect labels and box tops!
VOLUTEERS EEDED To help at the next Market Day sale
Saturday December 15th.
Market Day is a fundraiser that we share
with the other District 46 elementary
schools. Each elementary school takes a
turn supplying volunteers to help unload
the delivery truck and organize the orders
for pick up. The profits from each
monthly sale are split between the five
elementary schools. Woodview's turn to
volunteer is Saturday, December 15.
Fifteen adult volunteers are needed to
help unload the truck, sort orders and re-
trieve orders.
Volunteers are needed at Meadowview
school from 7:45 am to 9:30 am. Please
consider helping even if you need to
arrive late or leave early. Spouses are
welcome, and school-aged children can
help too! Donuts, bagels, coffee and juice
will be provided.
Please email [email protected]
or [email protected] if you can
help with this important PTO fundraiser.
Thank you!
