From the Pastor Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100 has been on my mind lately. It is a Psalm for giving thanks, and there are many reasons I’m thankful, among them these things from Westminster:
The blessing of fellowship! I saw it in the opportunity to welcome and honor our friends from the Village in Summerville last month.
The blessing of worship! Holy Week and Easter were inspiring. Can you believe 435 souls praising God in worship Easter morning? The Spirit of God is alive and vibrant.
The blessing of growth! We’re growing, and on April 6th at Wonderful Wednesday, we’ll honor all the new members who have joined WPC in the past year.
The blessing of youth and children. On April 24th, our youth will lead us in worship on Youth Sunday, and on May 8th, our children will lead us in worship on Children’s Sunday.
The blessing of nurturing the children! On May 1st in worship, we’ll celebrate the ministry of the WPC preschool.
The blessing of reaching out! On May 4th at Wonderful Wednesday, we’ll welcome and honor the staff and teachers at Mary Ford Elementary School.
Friends, look around. Jesus is alive at Westminster! Let’s give thanks together. Pastor Daniel

Come join in this intergenerational luncheon and make new friends! Bring your granddaughter, daughter, sister, mother, cousin, aunt or a friend and support this wonderful cause. We hope this is an opportunity to visit with those you may have seen in church but don’t know well, have fun and help My Sister’s House. You can pur-chase tickets from PW Circle Leaders or in the Church Office.
You are invited to pray for the Church: staff, leaders, meet-ings, and mis-
sion; for local, national, and global needs; and for any-thing else on your heart. A group gathers every Sun-day fro 9:15– 9:45 am in Pastor Daniel’s study. Ex-pert prayers not required, and no one will be put on the spot. Join us anytime
March 12 and 13 was a meaningful weekend at Westminster. The
Walk for water was Saturday, March 12. A team of 21 WPC
folks, coordinated by Brenda Gibson and AJ Bednarczyk, met
with several thousand other people at Joe Riley Stadium before
walking a little more than 3 miles to Hampton Park and back.
That’s the average distance a person in a developing country has
to walk every day to a water source. We carried buckets, and at
the halfway point our buckets were filled for the walk back to the
stadium. It was a good way to raise awareness and money for
Water Mission International, a WPC mission partner committed
to providing safe drinking water around the world in the name of
Jesus.
Sunday, March 13, was worship and lunch with our friends from
The Village. We cherish our older members, and it is such a treat
to welcome them and make them feel special when they are with
us. I believe the church is built on the lives and the prayers of the
saints, and to give God thanks for them is indeed a privilege.
There were many smiles on Sunday!
I am grateful for the life God gives us together in Christ.
Because of him, we get to work, play, fellowship, worship, and
serve together. As the old hymns says, What a fellowship, what
a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms; What a blessed-
ness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms.
Thanks be to God, the One from whom all blessings flow!
Pastor Daniel
FROM THE LIBRARY
The library is filled with wonderful books for adults, teenagers, and children, donated mainly by our pa-rishioners. You are invited to visit, find a nice book, use the self-help checkout,
and enjoy reading. The Library Staff Rosalee Smith, Roberta Shepard, Dee Bee Wright
A special thank you to the
Westminster Water Walkers and to
all of the support from our church
family! Our team of 21 walkers
made it the full 3.5 miles carrying
water buckets and pushing strollers!
It was a great day of fellowship and
making a difference. In addition to
$525.00 given online, a donation of
$639.36 will be given to Water Missions International.
Thank you!

News from the Preschool
The Preschool will resume on April 4th af-ter Spring Break and everyone will start the race to the end of school. So much work to do as the year comes to a close. The students will be busy with preparing for end of the year events like Mother’s Day, end of the year programs and 5k Gradua-tion. It is a busy time but the Preschool is always busy for the children and staff.
The Preschool would like to thank all those who have helped us by collecting soup labels and box tops. Our Box Tops total is not far from our goal of $500.00 dollars. So please keep dropping those off for the Preschool. Our Publix and Harris Teeter cards have not provided any funds for the school to date but we hope that by the next quarter we will see a reward. Please feel free to contact the school if you are interested in participating. And please note that the Preschool is no longer participating in Cartridges for Kids program. Many of the cartridges we received were not ac-cepted by the program. Thank you to all of you who participated. We will continue to look for easy ways for the school to earn funds.
Happy Spring! The Preschool
Support Westminster Boy Scouts The annual Troop 79 barbeque fundraiser is Saturday, April 16. You can help by volunteering to deliver meals to people in the community from 10:00- 2:00. Some large orders and some small orders will be delivered; all within a 10 mile radius of the church. If you’d like to support the scouts, please call or email the church office, [email protected].
“TO OUR WESTMINSTER MEMBERS AND FRIENDS: HOOKS & NEEDLES will gladly provide a lap robe or a prayer shawl for anyone in our church who is in need — ill, bereaved, or needing special comfort. Just let us know”.
Hooks and Needles will meet as usual Monday, April 11, at 10 a.m. room 4 in Covenant Hall .
