This Congress met to achieve stability & Peace in Europe.

Guess where they met…

VIENNA,

AUSTRIA

Major European leaders wanted to make sure another

REVOLUTION (and another NAP)

would never happen in Europe again.

It’s like a Party with a Goal…• The Congress of Vienna was a HUGE social

event! • Thousands flocked there to participate in

festivities & see CELEBRITIES/nobility from all the European countries.

BUT, only a few participated in the actual negotiations.

CONGRESS OF VIENNA:9/12/11

As 1 of the 5 countries involved in the Congress you will

attempt to make negotiations to…

1. Fate of France2. Redraw Boundaries

3. Create a Balance of Power4. Enforce C of V.

1 person in your group will be the leader of the country, the others will be advisors for each of the goals.

HOW YOU WILL BE GRADED

TODAY & TOMORROW:1. Level of Participation/On task time

2. Knowledge of material

3. Logic of arguments AND if they’re historically plausible. (no lasers…)

4. Level of preparation (note sheet)

MONDAY:

You will meet with your “issue” groups

- We’ll see if you can solve the problems of Europe!

TODAY you need to prepare!1. Choose who will be your Leader (1 person)2. Fill out the box on the back of your sheet for the

various advisors to your leader3. Choose a way you will distinguish yourselves

from other countries tomorrow & show which nation you belong to. (it must be on you somehow…come see me for hints)

4. Read your personality sheet – you MUST act how your country would tomorrow! Use the note sheet to take notes!

5. Study the map & attempt to find a solution for the boundaries of Europe.

So no country should have too much power…you are trying to fulfill the goals of the congress! But, you are essentially looking out for your country first!

6. Read the other personality sheets – you should be aware of what the other countries are going to try to get out of you.
