S&H VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK- DEBATE

Tamil Literary Club of SHA conducted a Debate on the topic ‘Ethics in Politics – Myth or

Reality‟ as a part of Vigilance Awarenesss Week. Dr.A.Karthika judged the event which

was an enthralling experience for the First year students as the students made their

arguments more emphatic with their expressions and voice modulation.





SOM VAW - HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

As a part of Vigilance Awareness Week celebration, „Health and Hygiene – an awareness

campaign‟ was organized by Dr.P.Thamaraiselvi and Mr.K.Bakiyaraj of School of

Management. Students created an awareness among the street food vendors at VOC park

to maintain hygiene in food preparation and distribution in line with the theme 'Integrity-a

way of life' by providing them with hair caps and gloves.





EEE BOARD OF STUDIES MEETING

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted its Eleventh Board

of Studies (BOS) Meeting for Syllabus validation of the fourth and fifth semesters and

open electives of U.G course for the regulations-2018. Dr.K Lakshmi, Head of the

Department chaired the session along with the expert members - Dr. K.Sathish Kumar,

Associate Professor, VIT University, Vellore, Mr.Saravana Kumar, Industrial Expert-Robert

Bosch, Mr R.Kishore Karthe, Industrial Expert- Soliton India, Mr.A.Pravin Industrial Expert

– SKS Power Generation, Chhattisgarh Ltd and department faculty members.





S&H EXTENDED HOUR ACTIVITY

The Theatre Cub of SHA provided an opportunity for the First year students to express

their innate talents through musical abilities. The club witnessed a gamut of talented

musicians at the Singing Opera competition held at Yoga Hall. The students touched our

hearts with their finesse and skilful play of various instruments.





SOM VAW- PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

As a part of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW)’, a Photography contest - 2019 on „Food

adulteration is a crime against humanity‟ was organized by Dr.P.Vijayalakshmi, School

of Management. The winners of the events are Saravanan.S, I SoM Showmiya.S,I SoM

and Aishwarya.R of II SoM.





ECE HANDS-ON TRAINING: DATA ACQUISTION FOR IOT

Department of ECE organized Hands-on Training for faculty on “Data Acquisition and

Analysis for Internet of Things Application”. The session was handled by Mr.Prabakar,

Assistant Engineer, Steps Knowledge Pvt Ltd, an authorized partner for Texas Instruments,

University Program. The faculty were given training on CC3200 Launchpad and projects

based on real time applications.





SOM MIMIC CATCHPHRASE & REAL PEOPLE-REEL VIDEOS CONTEST

In connection with weeklong ‘Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW)’, Mimic Catchphrase and

Real people-Reel Videos events on various themes such as Waste Segregation, Home

Composting, Rainwater harvesting and Dengue Prevention were organized by

Dr.P.Vijaylakshmi, School of Management. The winners of the events are

Saisivasubramanian.B and Dinesh Kumar of I SoM.





EEE DEPARTMENT MEETING

Dr.K.Lakshmi, HOD-EEE convened the weekly meeting on 31.10.19 with faculty members

and discussed the regular department activities and action plan for NBA.





SOM VAW- POSTER PRESENTATION CONTEST

Owing to ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’, a Poster Presentation Event on ‘Have Indians

become immune to corruption?‟ was organized by Dr.V.Priyadarshini and Mr.K.Bakiyaraj,

School of Management. Jayanthi B.S and Saipraneeth S.P of II SoM students

coordinated the event.





EEE ALUMNI INTERACTION

Mr.Saravana Kumar, Robert Bosch, Mr R.Kishore Karthe, Soliton India, Mr.A.Pravin, SKS

Power Generation, Chhattisgarh Ltd – prominent alumni of the department of Electrical and

Electronics Engineering interacted with year coordinator and senior faculty members

regarding placement preparation, GATE Classes and power plant related courses for third

year EEE Students.





SOM VAW- SHORT FILM CONTEST

As a part of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’, a Short film contest was organized by

Dr.P.Vijayalakshmi, School of Management. Short films projected by Arvindhan.G of I SoM

and Jayarama Krishnan.A of II SoM won the winner titles. The events were coordinated

by the students of SoM with full enthusiasm and passion.





S&H FACULTY PARTICIPATION IN UGC WORKSHOP

Dr.A.Indhueka, Department of Science and Humanities attended Two Day National

Workshop on Training of Teachers for Student Induction Programme

(Deeksharambh – phase II). This programme was conducted by University Grants

Commission for teachers to improve their teaching and management skills, adjust to the

culture of higher education institutions and better understand their professional

responsibilities.





S&H STUDENT MOOC CERTIFICATION

CSE FACULTY CERTIFICATION

Nirmal Raj. S of First year B.Tech-Information Technology has successfully completed

online course in Python 3 in Sololearn online learning platform.

Ms.J.Fenila Naomi, Assistant Professor, CSE has successfully completed “Business

Intelligence Concepts, Tools and Applications”, an online non-credit course authorized

by University of Colorado and offered through Coursera.
