EEE/CIVIL - SUCCESSFUL E-SAR NBA SUBMISSION

Two Undergraduate Programmes of SKCET – Electrical and

Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering are in the

process of acquiring NBA recognition this Academic

year. Principal Madam Dr.J.Janet had a detailed review of the

completed Self Assessment Report (SAR) and critically

appraised it to verify the norms and standards and finally

submitted the e-SAR online today.

Principal Madam commended the efforts Dr.D.Maruthachalam HoD-CIVIL and

Dr.K.Lakshmi, HoD-EEE along with the faculty teams of both the Departments of EEE

and CIVIL for their dedicated efforts to complete this Assessment Stage successfully.





NAAC REVIEW MEETING

A review with the NAAC Coordinators was convened by Principal Madam to discuss the

parameters of NAAC –Self Study Report (SSR).

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Institution

Innovation Council (IIC) organized an “Essay Writing” contest as a part of IIC – Innovation

Day (Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Sir‟s Birth Anniversary). Students participated actively and

imprinted their own writing skills in various topics of innovation and challenges.

Dr.K.Lakshmi, HoD, Department of EEE convened a meeting with the faculty members

today. The points discussed were:

The Mechatronics Engineering Department organized a Guest Lecture on “Gasoline

System and Engine Management Components” by Mr.Panneer Selvan Raman,

Technical Project Manager, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions,

Coimbatore.

MCT - GUEST LECTURE





Azeemahmed and Eppahara from the Department of Mechanical Engineering participated

in Paper presentation titled 'Hybrid Electric Vehicles' at PSG Tech, Coimbatore and

won the First prize with a cash prize of Rs 2500.Congratulations!!

MECH - STUDENT ACCOLADES: PAPER PRESENTATION AT PSG





MCT – STUDENT ACCOLADES AT NATIONAL EVENT

The student team BRAINIACS of Mechatronics Engineering Department participated in

the Asian E-bike Challenge at Raghu Engineering College, Vishakapatnam, Andhra

Pradesh. Among the 27 participant teams, SKCET team has won the First prize for the

„Best Acceleration Award‟ with a cash prize of Rs.7500/-. The team was mentored by

Mr. T. Vignesh and Mr. C. Prasath, MCT. Congratulations!





MECH – LAURELS AT HOVE RUSH

Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering participated in the event

"AAKRUUSH'19", an Hover Boat contest named as "HOVE RUSH" at SRM Institute of

Technology and Sciences, Chennai. The team "Technocracks" has won the Second

prize in the event with a cash prize of Rs.10,000/-. The team was mentored by Mr.

N.Ramachandran.

Muthu Kesavan.S of II Mech





Siva Shankar R and Surendar Raj G from II CSE C (TCS) attended the National level

technical event “SRISHTI 2k19” on 29.09.2019 at PSG College of Technology,

Coimbatore.” They won the Third Prize (cash prize of Rs.1,000/-) in the paper

presentation event . They expressed their inventive idea of Health based EI TITLED

„MEDOCS-An Emotional Intelligence based Digital Health Technology‟ and were well

appreciated by the Jury for their innovative prototype.

EEE – PROJECT REVIEW

As a part of pedagogical initiatives for the course Virtual Instrumentation, Third year

EEE- A section students exhibited their real time projects using LABVIEW software.

13 teams have enthusiastically involved and presented their ideas to develop programs for

the societal application. It was completed as the result of continuous monitoring process

with the self inspired, team work of individual student.

MCT - WEBINAR

II MCT A & B students attended a webinar on “Time for the Fluid Power World to Meet

the Industrial IoT(IIoT)” by Adam Gibson, Application Engineering Manager, Emerson

and Dr. Michael Britzger, Senior Manager Digital Transformation, Emerson. This webinar

highlighted the ongoing trends in fluid power and IIoT and some best practices when it

comes to future investments. The percentage of fluid power users that have started to

invest into IIoT technology is around 19%, however the percentage of those same

companies that believe IIoT is the future is 67%.
