Planadas Tolima organic coffee is produced by members of Cooperativa Agrovida located in the South of Tolima. Founded in April 2003, Agrovida is comprised of 102 associated farms from Planadas and the neighboring municipalities. Their mission is to improve the economic wellbeing of its associates through the dedicated production and commercialization of agricultural products. To this effort the members of Agrovida meticulously process their coffees. All coffees are prepared fully washed; harvested during the day, pulped in the afternoon, and fermented overnight for a period of 18 hours. After fermentation, the coffee is then washed two to three additional times before being sun-dried on patios or in greenhouses. Atlantic Specialty cuppers found notes of tropical fruit, milk chocolate, and honey. We are excited to add this coffee to our offerings.
