VERONA’S MUSICAL BALLOON BANDCome and join Verona and Cecil ‘The Balloon’ Donkey for an interactive Music and Movement class, designed to stimulate and help development in speech, coordination and motor skills. Bright balloons, props, singing and percussion instruments are used throughout the session to keep the little ones engaged. Class numbers are limited to 15 and one parent/guardian is required to remain with the child.

has toured the UK and Europe extensively in theatre productions. As a director he has worked on pantomime and plays, notably the Nottingham Theatre Royal, Colin McIntyre production of Dial M for Murder & Tri-Tangle at the Leicester Square Theatre.

credits include The Producers at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre, Fosse European tour, Joseph at the New London Theatre, Grease at the Larnaca Amphitheatre, Focus on Dance, choreographed by Lynn Seymour at New Victoria Theatre, Sleeping Beauty with the London Lewis Ballet Company and Dick Whittington at Norwich Theatre Royal. Helen also appeared in Dr Who where she played an Auton Killer Bride! Film credits include Kevin Spacey’s Beyond the Sea and Delovely.

STAGE COMBAT MASTERCLASSLearn all the secrets of stage combat with professional fight director, Matt Gardner and rehearse your own combat sequence. Great fun and no bones broken!

INTRODUCING OUR WORKSHOP LEADER Matt trained as an actor and fight arranger at East 15 and has advanced fighting qualifications with both the BADC and BASSC. He is the Fight Director for the Principal Theatre Company and the Young Shakespeare Company. His work includes: fight arranger for Shakespeare in Shoreditch (Lights of London Productions), The Shakespeare Conspiracy (ACS Random), Richard III (Word of Mouth productions), Taming of the Shrew (Courtyard Theatre), The Maccabees Video (Bullion Productions) plus as a fight performer in various films including Pirates of the Caribbean and Faintheart.

AUDITION SKILLS WORKSHOPTake all the worry out of that big audition! Led by National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) Director Sarah Redmond, you will learn the audition tricks that get you noticed on stage. You are asked to bring a prepared song or script with you.

INTRODUCING OUR WORKSHOP LEADER Sarah Redmond is an experienced actor and director. She has performed extensively on stage and television and has directed numerous seasons for NYMT, Chichester University and Trinity Conservatoire. In 2017 Sarah will be directing the highly acclaimed musical Betty Blue Eyes at the Brighton Festival and Honk! For a tour of Southwark and Lewisham schools.

AUDITION TECHNIQUE MASTERCLASSA practical workshop that breaks down the audition process from choice of song/script to the recall stages. The session is aimed at those preparing to enter Drama School or University. Participants should come to the workshop in comfortable clothes with a chosen song and script.

INTRODUCING OUR WORKSHOP LEADER Wendy has worked extensively as a Musical Director, Arranger and Composer for theatre, TV and radio – including National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Donmar Warehouse, Sadlers Wells, Hampstead Theatre as well as many of the regional reps and national touring venues. She is in huge demand as a consultant on musical theatre training and is currently Head of the Undergraduate Musical Theatre Course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

MATTHEW BOURNE’S THE RED SHOES WORKSHOPA unique opportunity for young dancers to explore themes from Matthew Bourne’s brand new production of The Red Shoes, based on the film by Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger and the Hans Christian Andersen fairy-tale.

New Adventures dancers will lead practical sessions to explore Matthew Bourne’s unique storytelling and choreographic language, learn repertoire from the show and delve into creative tasks used to create the piece. Followed by a Question & Answer session where you will be able to learn more about the production, New Adventures & Re:Bourne and what it’s like to be a dancer in the company.

There are lots of opportunities for budding singers and actors in this fun and educational school workshop! Suitable for primary students, Year 1 to 6.The workshops take place in school and are £220 for a 75 minute workshop with maximum 25 students.

EVITAUnpack the themes in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webbers’ masterpiece of political musical theatre! This practical workshop for Year 7 to 11s shows how theatre can bring history to life. The workshops take place in school and are £220 for a 75 minute workshop with maximum 25 students.

UNDERSTANDING DRAMA: SCHOOL MASTERCLASSESOur in school, bespoke practical workshops can explore GCSE & A Level set texts, the work of seminal theatre practitioners and specialist drama skills. Workshops could include: Working with Texts (eg Blood Brothers, Bouncers, 39 Steps), Introduction to Performing Shakespeare, Creating Character, Devising Theatre Masterclass, How to Audition.Practitioners covered include: Artaud, Boal, Brecht, Brook, Berkoff and Stanislavski.All workshops are led by experienced theatre professionals and tailored to your needs.
