The event
The Exhibition on Machine Tools and Automation Technology (EMAT) was organized from 29th
November – 2nd December, 2013 at Glada Ground, Chandigarh Road India, Opp. Vardhman
Mill, Ludhiyana, Punjab.
IETSS - EMAT 2013, an Exhibition On, Machine Tools and Automation Technology Has
Witnessed more than 23,000 visitors from India and Abroad. This Dynamic Event On , Machine
Tools And Automation Technology was Designed For, Machine Tools, CNC & SPM, Metal
Fabrication, Robotics, Assembly Tools, Cutting Tools, Automation & Instrumentation
Technology, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Machinery & Parts Manufacturers , Material,
Handling Equipment , Hydraulic & Pneumatics , Gears, Motors & Drives, Pump & Valves
Industries, Testing & Measuring Equipment, Welding And Government Employees Who Are
Making The Next Giant Leap In Engineering, Machine Tools And Automation Technology.

Inaugural Session
Shri Madan Mohan Mittal, Industry And Commerce Minister Government Of Punjab, Has
Inaugurated IETSS – Emat 2013 On 29th November, 2013 At Glada Ground Centre, Chandigarh
Road, Ludhiana, Punjab. And Kept It Open For The Visitors For Four Days.
Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma, president, UCPMA, Jagbir Singh Sokhi, president, Sewing Machine
Development Club, and others graced the inauguration ceremony.
Shri Madan Mohan Mittal, Industry and Commerce Minister Government of Punjab
Shri Madan Mohan Mittal indicated that Trade in Punjab region was all set to get tremendous
boost due to excellent opportunities highlighted in this unique event, which would usher a
golden era to support, promote, facilitate and accelerate further growth and boost the export
of industrial products. He appreciated and congratulated the Chamber of Industrial and
Commercial Undertaking (CICU) for organizing this event in Ludhiana.

Shri Avtar Singh indicated that this expo offers a lucrative opportunity to encash the presence
of Indian/foreign business representatives from respective engineering companies and other
manufacturing giants from different walks of engineering sectors to associate with them in
terms of vendor development programme or buyer-seller meet. He also add that the process
for providing common exhibition centre for the Ludhiana industry was also in progress and for
that he will request Anil Joshi, Minister for Local Bodies, to solve the issue of industries in the
Mixed Land Use area and fixation of single collector rate for industrial property in the Focal
Point.

Exhibition:
The exhibition had participation of over 150 exhibitors from Indian and foreign companies and
attracting overwhelming response from visitors.
The focus sectors of this show are machine tools, hand tools, sheet metal components, auto
parts, tractor parts, bicycle parts, sewing machine parts, fasteners, agro engineering products,
power tools, engineering measurement devices, pneumatics and hydraulics products, CNC
machines, transformers and industrial electrical, light and heavy batteries, forgings, security
and surveillance, solar energy products, food processing machinery, textile and knitting
machinery and products for low cost auto machines.

Visitors:
EMAT 2013 received more than 23,000 visitors from India and overseas.
Apart from international buyers, the event registered visits by leading Indian manufacturing
companies, corporate houses, buying agencies, public sector units and Indian Government
departments to source their engineering requirements at the show.
Way Forward:
Creating and establishing neutral Platforms for the Industry Players to assemble under one
roof, to share information and knowledge, both technical and trade oriented, understand
the market dynamics.
Similar events that promote MSMEs of India to a larger market in India and abroad should
be conducted
The national production caters to only about half the national consumption across all
industries. Evidently this Industry has very challenging times ahead to bridge this demand-
supply gap. Such kind of events provides great opportunities for the industry.
