In his speech, Prof. Ranjan motivated the gathering to uphold patriotic values at all times. He also congratulated the gathering on this occasion and asked them to incorporate the constitutional duties in their lives. He said that every Indian who does his or her duties diligently is a true patriot. After the flag hoisting ceremony, distribution of sweets took place at the University canteen.

Students of Himgiri Zee University performed a nukkad natak

on theme “Crime, Corruption and Mehangai”. The nukkad

natak was first performed at Gandhi Park Dehradun in

collaboration with Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA)

on 28th January, 2018. This nukkad natak was also staged at

Tehsil Chowk in association with Uttaranchal Gramin Bank.

Varsity Celebrated National Girl Child Day

On National Girl Child Day, Department of Agriculture

organized ‘Run for Unity’ race and poster-making competition.

In his inaugural speech, Prof. Rakesh Ranjan, Vice Chancellor

appreciated the efforts put in by the students to organize such an

event. Highlighting the value of equality, he emphasized that girl

child is an important element of our society. She is believed to

have her aspiration, abilities and qualities as a boy does have.

Ritik (BAMC II Semester) claimed first position in ‘Run for

Unity’ competition whereas the second and third positions went

to Abhishek Rana (BAMC IV Semester) and Ashish (BSc Agri II

Semester). In Girls, Tanvi (BSc Agri IV Semester) bagged first

position in ’Run for Unity’ competition while the second &

third position was clinched by Kajal and Poonam of BArch

(VIII Semester) respectively. In the Poster making, first

position was won by Ritu (BArch VIII Semester) while

Mahi (BAMC II Semester) and Kivinu (BSc Agri VI

Semester) stood second & third respectively. Winners were

given prizes and certificates by Vice Chancellor Prof.

Ranjan. On this occasion, Registrar Dr. Suresh Dhyani,

CFO Anter Deep Singh and Senior Administrative Officer

Vishnu Mathur were present. Students participated in the

event with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. Sharad Pandey,

Head, Department of Agriculture organized this event. The

faculty members and students made the event successful.

Nukkad Natak on ‘Crime, Corruption and Mehangai’ Theme

Audience lauded the efforts of the students. Students who

enacted in the play were Anukul, Mahi, Vikrant, Amar,

Akanksha, Neha, Neeti, Shriti, Gaurav, Aditya (Himgiri Rang

Manch). The nukkad natak was directed and coordinated by

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Incharge Himgiri Ki Awaz Radio Station.

Infrastructure Expansion Projects are in full Swing

In order to improve the infrastructural facilities, University has

started to construct new labs for engineering department. These

labs will be for mechanical, civil, electrical and electronics

branches. This project

will be completed within

two months. University

have instructed to

concerned authorities to

work relentlessly on this

project and complete the

same within given time.

In addition, University is installing solar panel for encouraging

the use of renewable energy. Prof. Rakesh Ranjan, Vice

Chancellor expressed this ideas of installation of 100 KW Solar

Panel in the campus

during national seminar

on ‘Role of Green Energy

in Sustainable Future’

organized in the month of

November last year. These

plans seem visionary and

beneficial for students in

the long run.
