Assumption Regional Catholic School News!

www.arcsgalloway.org – 652-7134

Dear Friends,

Peace and all good!

It is amazing how quickly we are moving through October. The weather continues to make it feel like late summer! Our annual Scholastic Book Fair was held this past week and was a huge success! Our librarian, Mrs. Faiss, and her volunteer corps, worked hard on behalf of our students! A great time was had by all! Please visit our Assumption Regional Catholic School Facebook page to see our students’ smiling faces! As part of Fire Safety Month, this past week we were visited by members of the Galloway Fire Department. Children in Grades PreK – 2, visited the fire trucks and went into the bouncy house to understand the importance of “Stop, Drop, and Roll.” Our Pre-K4 students visited Butterhof’s Shady Brook Farm on October 17 for a day filled with a corn maze, hayride, pumpkin picking and lunch! We kicked off the 2017-2018 Annual Fund with “Uncorked and Uncapped” on Friday, October 20. We are grateful to Tony and Christine Bruno for hosting this event, and for all who donated to the Annual Fund, which enables us to continue our tradition of academic excellence and spiritual formation at Assumption Regional Catholic School. We have been keenly aware of the many natural disasters that have occurred since school began, and we hold all victims in our heart and prayer. In addition to raising over $1,100 for Sacred Heart School in Rockport, Texas, we are also raising money for Puerto Rico and Northern California with our “Change for Charity” drive. Our students take to heart Jesus’s words, Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do to me. Our school community holds in prayer the parishioners of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church in Brigantine as they grieve the loss of their former pastor, Fr. Bill Vandergrift. We are grateful for the support that Father Bill gave to ARCS during the time he served Saint Thomas. As always, thank you for your support of the ministry of Catholic education at Assumption Regional Catholic School. We could not do it without you! Many blessings,

B. Joan Dollinger Principal

Stewardship Essence “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and

to God the things that are God’s.” - MATTHEW 22:21

Everything we are and everything we have belongs to God. We aren’t “owners” of anything; we are merely “Stewards” of the gifts God has given each of us. All God is asking is that we give back a portion of what He gave us. This is the essence of Stewardship. God should be our priority in everything. All else comes second.
