RESTAURANT REVIEW OF PINCHOS

Pinchos has been established for over 13 years, with previous restaurants in Burnham on Crouch and Rayleigh. In fact, a reliable source has informed us that Pinchos was in fact the first Tapas restaurant in Essex. Tapas are a simple, relaxed way to enjoy a selection of delicious authentic food. It is a style of eating and a way of life that is typically Spanish. Unlike most meals there is no formal starter and main course, instead you just order a selection of dishes and then sample them all. It's the ideal way to try new dishes that you may not have had before.

Owned and managed by Juan and Beverley Acevedo and partner Lynn Martin, the restaurant is located on Baddow Road. Pinchos is a warm, friendly restaurant with a vibrant and stylish decor. You have a real sense of being in a traditional Spanish restaurant. All the dishes are freshly made on the premises and many of their produce is sourced from local suppliers. To get that authentic taste, they directly import several of their key ingredients from Spain.

Pinchos has a inviting, comfortable atmosphere with warm and friendly staff. The food is extremely tasty and there is a decent selection in the menu. I would definitely recommend the Pil Pil Prawns, the Roasted Aubergines and the Fish Cakes, they were all very good. The dishes are full of flavour but not overpowering. On Fridays and Saturday nights Juan provides evening entertainment on his acoustic guitar with classical Spanish music as well as some popular English classics. This adds a great vibe to the evening, as he is really quite talented. In fact it was so good that we were back in the next weekend for dinner!

Takeaway Service Something I was pleased to hear of was that they provide a takeaway service! It makes a refreshing change for a different kind of takeaway other than the traditional Fish & Chips, Chinese and Indian. Pop in and pick up delicious tapas between 6 - 10.00pm from Tuesday to Saturday and also on Sunday in the summer months.

Live MusicEvery Friday and Saturday night you can enjoy live music played by Juan.

Private PartiesIf you have a party to organise, then Pinchos is an ideal setting for Birthdays, Anniversaries and Corporate Functions. They have a private room downstairs, which seats up to 30 people. The service is good and with a relaxing contemporary ambiance in a great location. There is no cover charge and they offer a selection of Tapas from £15.00 per head in the evening and there is a lunch special where you can choose any 3 tapas for £9.50.

Salsa TuesdayEvery Tuesday, Pinchos is open for fantastic Cuban Salsa. It's different to most places as there is no standard lesson at the beginning of the night. You can just go along and dance free style or simply watch and take in the atmosphere. They have a few teachers that are regulars so if you want to learn a few new moves, you can still get a few minutes of one-to-one training. Of course the tapas menu is available to order to give you the energy boosts you will need in between dances! It starts at 6pm and goes on till late and the entrance is free!

Pinchos have an Environmental AwardThey received the 'Green Ladle' environmental champion award, which recognises good kitchen practice to stop waste fats, oils and grease (FOG) blocking up sewers. This helps to reducing pollution and odours.

Last ordersLast food orders are 10.30pm. It's in an ideal location to go after watching a film in the Odeon, which is just around the corner.

Wine BarPinchos Wine Bar and Tapas Restaurant (as it says in the title) is also a 'wine bar' so you can go in for a drink or the tapas or both! If you want to stay out a late, then drop by as Pinchos are open till midnight.
