Just a half-mile drive or walk from Arrow- head Campground, Cove Boat Ramp is located west of Arrowhead Campground on Forest Road 597B. Follow the signs to the boat landing. An all-terrain vehicle rider enjoys the off-high- way vehicle trails near Arrowhead. The trails can be accessed at the Wolf Den Trail-head, 2.5 miles from campground. Take 597B east and turn right on 597. At “T” intersection with Forest Road 576, turn right and look for the sign. Anglers may fish the shoreline of Badin Lake from numerous points along the Badin Lake Hiking Trail. In addition, a floating pier is located on the north side of Kings Mountain Point—a great casting spot. Badin Lake is filled with an array of fish, from cat- fish to largemouth to striped bass. Badin Lake Hiking Trail follows Badin Lake’s shore for half of its distance and loops back through hardwood forests to the boat ramp. Paved connectors from Arrowhead Campground access the trail. Hikers may take the 2.5-mile loop or tackle the entire 5.6-mile trail. A 5,350-acre impoundment of the Yadkin River, Badin Lake offers a boaters’ paradise, from waterskiing to cruising to sailing. Known as a bassmaster’s paradise, the lake is a favorite haven for largemouth bass. Camp- ing from boats is a popular pastime on Badin Lake. Visi- tors not only camp, they swim, fish and sunbathe.
