NASA scientists have found the satellite, using a new ground-based radar technique. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) lost contact with Chandrayaan-1 in August 2009, almost a year after it was launched in October, 2008. Now, scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California have successfully located the spacecraft still circling some 200 kilometres above the lunar surface. Port Blair, Mar 11 The Tehsil Diwas, organised under the aegis of the District Administration, South Andaman, was held at Community Hall, Chouldari today, under the Chairmanship of Shri Rajesh Chawdhary, Asst. Commissioner (Settlement). Officers of line departments, PRI representatives and villagers from Chouldari, Tushnabad and Mithakhari Gram Panchayats participated in large number. General issues like power-cuts, providing approach to inhabited areas, construction of sluice-gates, cutting of dangerous trees, opening of counters for payment of Tehsil Diwas celebrated at Chouldari Concerned agencies directed for timely disposal of public issues electricity bills and telephone bills, supply of poultry inputs and crocodile menace were discussed. Individual grievances and issues pertaining to day-to-day lives of local residents were also discussed at length and appropriate orders were issued for redressal of the grievances on a time- bound manner. The General public were informed that the decisions taken during the Tehsil Diwas would be followed up scrupulously and lapses/delay on the part of the concerned department in implementation of the directions, will be reported for initiating appropriate action by the competent authorities. Port Blair, Mar 11 A Community Sanitary Complex work was inaugurated at Vijaynagar, under Govindnagar Gram Panchayat, Havelock by the Assistant Commissioner/SDM, South Andaman, Ms Mitali Goel today. Shri Apurba Chandra Roy, Pramukh Port Blair Panchayat Samiti, Community Sanitary Complex to come up at Vijaynagar Prothrapur and Shri. Ajit Kumar Roy, Pradhan, Govindnagar Gram Panchayat, PRI member and general public were also present on the occasion. The community sanitary complex will have four units and its estimated cost will be Rs.5.60 lakhs. Under the Port Blair, Mar 11 The Coast Guard here conducted a Community Interaction Programme at Corbyn's Cove yesterday as part of developing social connect with coastal community and sensitizing fishermen folk. The interactions were aimed at educating and Coast Guard conducts community interaction encouraging the fishermen and coastal population about safety and security issues at sea. The event was attended by 50 local fishermen and representatives from Fisheries Department. The additional work includes Rehabilitation and upgradation of section from KM 242 to 298.0 (Length of 56 KM road) of National Highway (NH-4) to 2-Lane with hard shoulder in the Union MoRTH includes additional work for A&N Isles Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The cost of this project is Rs. 409.85 Crores. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has further informed to NHIDCL that existing sanction ceiling has been enhanced from Rs 250 to Rs 580.05 crores against National Highway works, a communication from the office of the MP said here. The progressive decision of PBMC takes various progressive & people friendly decisions Unit Area System of Property Tax was a welcome step to bring transparency, fairness and relief to the Citizens because there is no scope of any corruption in the new system and self- assessment system will end the 'Inspector -Raj'. Accordingly, considering public interest at the highest pedestal and to minimize the tax burden, the following further reliefs have been given to the Citizens by the PBMC: There will be no Property Tax on vacant land. There will be two categories with base rental value of Rs. 30/- and Rs. 20/ - instead of earlier announced three categories of Rs. 50/-, Rs. 40/- and Rs. 30/-. Widow women will get 25% discount, Handicapped persons will get 25% discount and all females will get 10% discount. On advance payment of property tax by 30th June, there will be rebate of 10%. As one time measure, citizens will have option to pay earlier dues of property tax by 30th June 2017 with above discounts and rebate. He said, it is the victory of development and good governance. The Prime Minister said the support of youth is very gladdening. Shri Modi expressed happiness that BJP has received unprecedented support from all sections of society. Responding to queries in the Lok Sabha during question hour yesterday, he said in last December alone, over one lakh forty thousand crore rupees has been collected as the direct taxes. He stressed that Targets on taxes to be exceeded this fiscal: Finance Minister there are buoyant growth in tax collections for the past three years. He said the recent demonetization move by the Centre has brought all the high value currencies into the banking system rather than from lying unaccounted. He said the Reserve Bank of India is verifying each and every high value currency note that has been deposited post demonetization. He said it is a lengthy process and at the end of it, fake currency notes would be segregated and it would be known how much of genuine high value currency has been brought into re-circulation. India's 1st lunar probe Chandrayaan 1

India's first lunar probe - the

Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft - which was

considered lost, is still orbiting the Moon.

NASA scientists have found the satellite,

using a new ground-based radar

technique.

Indian Space Research Organisation

(ISRO) lost contact with Chandrayaan-1

in August 2009, almost a year after it was launched in October, 2008.
