The first known purpose-built office building dates back to 1560 and was built

in Florence. Originally known as the Palazzo degli Uffizi (with the old Italian

word for “offices” being Uffizi) it is now world famous and houses works of

art by the great Italian Renaissance artists such as Botticelli, Michelangelo,

Leonardo da Vinci and Raffaello to name but a few.

At The Florence Building, the first totally new-build office building in Basingstoke

for over 15 years, Abstract have sought to distil the essence of what makes the

art and style of Italy so iconic to provide a contemporary working environment

designed for today’s dynamic office occupiers.
