Later that evening 26 of us went to the Conwy Golf Club and had a great meal. It was an excellent day all round and a big thanks to all those who entered into the spirit of the day. The Alpha and Hornby Cup competitions are going well but you may be asking why you haven’t been asked for the entry fee: that’s because I forgot. So all of you who entered please let me have your £1.50 or put it into an envelope in the clubhouse box. Thanks Another club activity going well is the Ladies Team. The Scramble competition and Dinner was another success this year. The competition was won by John Cartwright and he was presented with a bottle of wine by our President Tudor. and attention. Help is always needed so please help out if you can.

As you know we have a ‘Fun Day’ on the last Sunday of every month. However, did you know that it is now only £1.50 to come along and for that you get a

good game of bowls and a refreshments. What’s nice is that we get visitors from other clubs but they pay £2.50 and it’s still a bargain. Last month we raised nearly £82 thanks to the help from those members who gave up their time to bring in the wonderful food and help with the day.

On the 29th July we have our next one and this time the proceeds will go to charity and as we now try to keep it local we agreed to support Clyb Yr Efail (The Smithy) Conwy. They have an over 60s section and the proceeds will help fund their activities. Please give your support by donating a raffle prize. If you cannot make it on the day a small donation would be very much appreciated.

Did you know that the £1.50 entrants fee for the Thursday friendlies has been scrapped. It’s now FREE. Give Liz and Bill your support if you can.

If you are on the green on your own, either playing or working, it might be helpful if the clubhouse was kept locked. There has been

occasions where a member has come to the green, entered the clubhouse and left again, without being seen.

On Sunday, 19th August, the Wednesday League Pairs Competition is being held at the Vardre. If you are interested in playing the details are on the notice board, or you could just come along and support it

Don’t forget that if you have any good suggestions that would improve the club write them down and put them in the suggestion box.

Did you know that our Head of Morale, Brian, has returned from two months in Canada. Guess what, he hasn’t changed a bit! 🤡

The next Committee Meeting will be on Friday, 27th July at 10.00
