World Mission Day 2017 “Mission at the heart of the Christian faith” World Mission Day gathers us around the per-son of Jesus, “the very first and greatest evan-gelizer”. The church’s mission, directed to all women and men of good will, is based on the transformative power of the Gospel. Let us draw inspiration from Mary, Mother of Evan-gelization, she welcomed the Word of life in the depths of her humble faith. May the Virgin Mother help us to say our own “yes”, con-scious of the urgent need to make the Good News of Jesus resound in our time. We will have a second collection next weekend Oc-tober 21st, 22nd for World Mission Sunday.

St. Vincent DePaul Society Bundle Up Weekend

Planning to be a Catholic School Teacher?

It is critical for you to know that to be hired to teach in any Catholic School Board in Ontario as part of your applica-tion for employment you must provide a letter of recommendation from your Pas-tor. It is highly recommended to contact the pastor a year in advance, especially in light of the fact that all universities make this matter known to every student at the beginning of the year. Please plan to have a conversation with your pastor early in the

process (not the week before you are sub-mitting your application) and you will avoid disappointment and stress at the time when applications are to be submitted. The following are required at St. Jude’s: Be (yourself, not your parents or grand-

parents) a registered member of the par-ish using offertory envelopes (at least 1 year before the application).

Be in the parish for participation in Sun-day/Saturday mass for a minimum of 12 months prior to approaching the pastor.

Make your request 3 months in advance. Applicant must be the one making the requests.

No request by a relative or a parent will be accepted .

The pastor has to be able to recommend you, and that is only possible if he knows you at the basic level of regular mass at-tendance. Personal knowledge of the can-didate’s faith practice is what the pastor needs to recommend, not your relatives, but yourself, as this is a personal recom-mendation not a family one.

Offertory Envelopes Please ensure to use only the envelopes with the number that have been assigned to you. DO NOT use any other enve-lope. Thank you for helping our Ac-counting Department to keep accurate records, in order to apply the donations to the correct person.
