Location Woodview Cottages is located in a rural setting within the hamlet of Lower
Charaton and is just 1 mile from the village of Pensilva with village shop, playing
fields, doctor’s surgery, primary school, village hall (known as the Millennium House)
which includes a post office. The Victoria Inn in the village is known for good food
within the area. Liskeard is 5 miles to the south and offers further amenities and
facilities including shops, restaurants, public houses, secondary school, dentist,
supermarkets and leisure centre with pool. Callington is 6 miles away with further
shopping facilities.
Plymouth, the commercial centre for the area, is approximately 14 miles to the south
accessed via the A39 and the Tamar Bridge, or the Torpoint ferry and has theatre,
cinema, shopping centres as well as Plymouth Aquarium and The Hoe made famous
by Sir Francis Drake.
Local tourist attractions in the area include the fishing villages of Looe, Polperro,
Mevagissey and Fowey. Looe has a fish market and moorings and slipway for
boating/sailing. Siblyback Lake is 4 miles away which is known in the area for water
sports. The property is located on the edge of Bodmin Moor which has recently been
the backdrop for the filming of the BBC drama Poldark and is an Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty with enhanced public access. The Eden Project and the
Lost Gardens of Heligan in the St Austells area make ideal day trips along with the
National Trust property of Lanhydrock at Bodmin and Antony’s House, Torpoint.

Directions
From the M5 follow the A30 to Launceston. Take
the Launceston exit and at the roundabout take the
B3254 signed to South Petherwin. Follow the B3254
for 4½ miles through Daw’s House, South
Petherwin and Slithers Hill. At Congons Shop stay
on the B3254 (at the crossroads go straight over).
Follow the B3254 for 5½ miles passing through
Middlewood and Upton Cross. Turn left signed to
Pensilva and Callington.
Pass through the village of Pensilva, at the end of
the village next to the Victoria Inn follow the sign to
Kerney Bridge/Golberdon.
Follow this road for ¼ mile passing Fern Lodge
Cattery. At Charaton Cross turn right signed to St
Ive/Callintgton.
Follow the lane for ¼ mile and the property is on
the left to Lower Charaton Farmhouse and Brook
Barn Farm. If you get to the main road you have
gone too far and look out for a small wooden sign
