Fighting Cancer is a Team Effort
Get your friends, family and co-workers together and join the
fight for LIFE.
Relay For Life is a 12-hour overnight, non-competitive event. Teams of 12-15 friends, family members or co-workers get together and run, walk, or stroll around a track as part of a Relay For Life team. On Relay For Life night, participants pitch tents which may be decorated in their particular theme. The tent serves as the team’s headquarters for the evening. It is a time for you and your team to join in the celebration of survival, a tribute to the lives of loved ones and a night of fun, entertainment, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer. It’s a night for all ages!

A Charlotte, North Carolina man, having purchased a case of rare, very ex-pensive cigars, insured them against .... get this .... fire. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of fabulous cigars, and having yet to make a single premium payment on the policy, the man filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the man stated that he had lost the cigars in “a series of small fires.” The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason that the man had consumed the cigars in a normal fashion. The man sued ... and won!! In delivering his ruling, the judge stated that since the man held a policy from the company in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable, and also guaranteed that it would insure the cigars against fire, without defining what it considered to be “unacceptable fire,” it was obligated to compensate the insured for his loss. Rather than endure a lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the judge’s ruling and paid the man $15,000 for the rare cigars he lost in “the fires.” After the man cashed his check, however, the insurance company had him ar-rested... on 24 counts of arson! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used as evidence against him, the man was convicted of intentionally burning the rare cigars and sentenced to 24 consecutive one year terms.

A duke was hunting in the forest with his men-at-arms and servants; he came across a tree. Upon it, archery targets were paint-ed and smack in the middle of each was an arrow. ‘Who is this incredibly fine archer?’ cried the duke.’I must find him!’ After con-tinuing through the forest for a few miles he came across a small boy carrying a bow and arrow. Eventually the boy admitted that it was he who shot the arrows plumb in the center of all the targets. ‘You didn’t just walk up to the targets and hammer the arrows into the middle, did you?’ asked the duke worriedly. ‘No my lord. I shot them from a hundred paces. I swear it by all that I hold holy.’ ‘That is truly astonishing,’ said the duke. ‘I hereby admit you into my service.’ The boy thanked him profusely. ‘But I must ask one favor in return,’ the duke continued. ‘You must tell me how you came to be such an outstand-ing shot.’ ‘Well,’ said the boy, ‘first I fire the arrow at the tree, and then I paint the target around it.’

Movies A man in a movie theater notices what looks like a glow worm sitting next to
him. “Are you a glow worm?” asked the man, surprised. “Yes.” “What are you doing at the
movies?” The glow worm replied,“Well, I liked the book.”
Sudoku Answer: A brilliant magician was performing on an ocean liner. But every time he did a trick, a talking cat in the audience would scream, “It’s a trick. It’s not magic. You’re a big phony!” Then one night during a storm, the ship sank while the magician was performing. And who should end up in the same lifeboat together, all alone, but the talking cat and the magician! For three days, they glared at each other, neither one saying a word to the other. Finally the cat sighed and said, “All right, smart-aleck. You and your darn tricks. What did you do with the ship?”

CanaDa reveals neW $5 anD $10 Billsmining.com - The Bank of Canada revealed its newest $5 and $10 notes yesterday. The fresh bills are the latest and final in the series of redesigned currency made out of polymer. Mark Carney, governor of the bank, said the newfangled notes were harder to counterfeit, because of the security features, such as holographic images, transparent strip and other elements. They are also cheaper, because the polymer material lasts at least 2.5 times longer than paper-based notes. Additionally, they are greener since longer-lasting notes means fewer notes need to be transported over the long term. The $5 bill illustrates the country’s participation in the international space program with an image of the Can-adarm2, the robot Dextre and their mobile base. The $10 bill depicts the Canadian train and the joining of the vast country from east to west by rail. The new bank notes will start circulating in November.
