Governor’s Letter
The time has arrived gentlemen- this will be my final letter, as the annual election of officers is complete and your incoming Governor is ready to take the reins on May 1, 2019. Please join me in con-gratulating Mike Bruss as he begins his new duties as chief officer of our lodge. I will continue to serve on the board as Jr. Past Gover-nor and work in a supporting role to the new board of officers.
Recently the House Committee voted and approved to split the po-sitions of Administrator and Bar manager. Brother Lupe Ortiz has done a good job of working both positions for many years and will now be able to focus more time in executing the duties of Lodge Administrator. Your House Committee also voted and approved to offer the Bar Manager position to Lynn McCurdy and she has ac-cepted the position. Lynn will officially assume her new responsi-bilities on May 1, 2019. Please join me in congratulating Lynn and wishing her success.
Same story- new date: the lodge needs volunteers to help with the many tasks needing attention in and around our facility. We could always use help in the kitchen and park grounds. Brother Park Committee Chairman Mike Murphy has done an outstanding job on the grounds and with Spring time in full bloom I am certain he would welcome any assistance you can provide.
Thank you for your support during the past year. It was a very busy term- sometimes almost overwhelming, but with the help and guid-ance provided by the group of men serving with me we were able to accomplish some good things for the lodge and membership as a team committed to do our best.
Fraternally, Brad Holcomb

Chapter 53 Votes Affirmative at Special Meeting - April 6
During the 2019 Midyear Conference of the Illinois Moose Association, The Loyal Order of Moose approved moving for-ward with a program, inviting the Chapters within the IMA to join with them in their objective to: • Aid and promote the purposes of the LOOM. • Build the membership strength of the Order. • Stimulate participation in Community Service programs. • Adopt programs and projects for the betterment of Moose-
heart/Moosehaven to include the building of the Endowment Fund for the support of these institutions.
• Coordinate the programs and directives of Moose Interna-tional, Inc. and the Supreme Lodge.
All Chapters within the IMA are required to call a special mem-bership meeting by June 1 to determine if the Chapter is willing to become a part of this program and join the Association. Watch for the results from all chapters after June 1 and from the LOOM after the State Convention.
If this program is approved, co-workers will have a voice in de-cisions of the IMA, and its districts, and would be allowed to serve as Association Chairmen, District Presidents and the elected Association Officers.

Clever Moose
Lodgic is an ambitious new concept to do more of what the Moose has been doing since 1888. We’ve reimagined the timelessly good things the Moose has always stood for - working hard, taking care of each other, and having fun. In 2018, Champaign-Urbana wel-comed the nation’s first-ever Lodgic Everyday Community.
