The final numbers for our March Members-as-Donors Campaign are in - you guys rocked with $16,642 donated to our Strong Kids Campaign! Not to mention we also have the most member-donors year-to-date versus this time last year with 370. We’ll be in the lobby April 9 - 15, so if you haven’t had a chance to find out how you can support Strong Kids, stop on by! BRING A FRIEND WIN A MONTH! We’re bringing back our famous “Bring a Friend Week” where you get a chance to be entered to win a free month of membership and so much more... We will be celebrating Bring a Friend Week from April 22-28. All adult members can invite their friends to enjoy the Y for the week. Special invitations will be used for guests that week instead of guest passes, and you can bring up to 2 friends per visit. With every friend who comes to try the Y and turns in a completed invitation you will be entered in a drawing for a FREE month of membership! Plus, if they decide to join, you get a thank you gift, and a workout buddy just in time for summer! COMMUNITY FITNESS CLASSES As a part of our commitment to healthy living, we will be offering fun & free community fitness classes twice each month. This month we will be featuring Zumba on Thursday, April 5, and Ultimate Challenge Barefoot Cardio on Thursday, April 26th. Classes will meet in the Kuttner room from 6:30 pm - 7:30pm. Join us to try something new and invite your friends! Updated schedules for our community fitness classes will also be available on our Facebook events page at facebook.com/mcburneyymca.

cALLIng ALL AuTHOrSWe’ll be hosting an Author’s Reading on Wednesday, May 16th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. If you have a new book that you would like to promote, please contact Sarah Van Arsdale, our volunteer coordinator for this event at [email protected].

dAncIng fOr A cAuSeLast month we hosted our first ever Dance-a-thon to support the Strong Kids Campaign. The Dance-a-thon was a huge success raising over $3,700! Nearly 100 people came out to dance, mingle, and pledge their support to the Strong Kids Campaign. Highlights included raffles, limbo contests, soul trains, a Saturday Night Fever photo op, and glow-in-the-dark accessories. Thanks to all the staff who worked hard to make this event so great, and to all the dancers who came out to support us. We’ll keep you posted on ways to get involved in the 2013 Strong Kids Dance-a-thon, in the meantime make sure you join us for our Aerob-a-thon on Sunday, April 15. WALK YOur WAY TO fITneSS!WALK IT!Walk your way to fitness! For adults seeking a healthier lifestyle through increased physical activity. Each walk offers unique educational opportunities: information about the Y fitness coaching, personal training and fitness classes; principles of nutrition; sightseeing elements, and provides an enriching social engagement.If you are new to exercising, haven’t exercised for some time, or you’re a more experienced Y member seeking outdoor physical exercise in a group setting, join in. The distance of each walk will build from approximately 1.5 to 3 miles. DAYS: Wednesdays at 9:30 am, April 4, 11, 18 and 25EVENINGS: Mondays at 6:00pm, April 2, 9, 16 and 23LOCATION: Meet in the McBurney LobbyINSTRUCTOR: Ruth, Personal Fitness CoachFEES: Members - FREE but registration is required at Member Services

Remember that in order to ensure your spot you must pay a $50 deposit per session. Financial Assistance is available for those who qualify. Camp runs July 2nd – August 24th do not miss out on a summer of fun and adventure!
