Manny is a bright, charming BorderCollie/Rat Terrier cross who is looking foran active home. Manny is almost fiveyears old. Whether you want a joggingpartner or want to try dog sports like fly-ball, disc, agility, or weight pull, Mannycould do it all! Manny loves to playchase, ball, and wrestle!
Manny is a young adult who came toSDR from Tennessee when his familymoved away and left him in the yard tofend for himself. Because of having tofend for himself, Manny has a very highprey drive and would not be good for a
home with cats or small animals. Manny is house-trained and crate trained, and settles very nicely inthe house as long as he gets enough exercise. Heloves to cuddle and is the perfect size to snuggleup with. He has been very soft and submissivewith everyone he has met.
Manny needs ongoing mental exercise just as much as he needs physi-cal exercise. He's a fast learner, and is easily motivated by food, toys, andgames. If Manny does not get this simulation and burn off energy he willbecome anxious and will act out.
Manny will need to go to a home with no other dogs because when hegets excited he directs that excitement on them.
If you are looking for a smart, active, fun-loving little guy to be your con-stant companion, please contact Small Dog Rescue and ask for Manny! Heis neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and up-to-date on shots aswell as being current on flea & tick preventative, heartworm preventative, and de-worming.

Jessica Bradford loves what shedoes and does what she loves. A pass-ing comment by her father sparked anidea for Jessica that has lead to a suc-cessful venture.
Jessica's father had just completedtreatment and commented to her thatKasson would be a good location for alodging facility for people who havecompleted treatment. A "bridge" so tospeak to assist them in transitioning tomainstream living. Jessica and herfather Virgil had purchased a housewith the intent to flip it. On one handthe flip was a flop; on the other hand
Dodge Board and Lodge is now four years later successfully occu-pying and operating in that very house.
The sober house has served as an asset to many people in recov-ery. "We are currently starting an alumni group. Of the 30 peopleinvolved only three were originally from the area. All have foundjobs and the majority have remained in this area to live and work",shares Jessica.
In order to stay at the house clients must adhere to mandatoryguidelines. Clients are required to attend four AA/NA meetingseach week, stay sober, find a sponsor and actively job search. Theyalso do their own cooking, cleaning and sleep in shared bedrooms."The Kasson area community and businesses have been very sup-portive. Employers here have hired many of our clients", Jessicasays gratefully. St. Peter's Episcopal Church holds a free of chargecommunity meal, "A Place at the Table", each Wednesday eveningat 5:30. This provides clients an opportunity to prepare a meal andmeet community members. Families are able to sit at the table andshare a three course meal. St. John's Lutheran Church providesevery client with a quilt. This is a meaningful remembrance whenthey leave. St. John's also provides the house with meals when theyhave extra food from events. The water aerobics and Homemakergroups give generous donations of paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) at Christmas time. Homemakers also make a plat-ter of Christmas goodies for the house. "We are so fortunate andgrateful for all of this", says Jessica. "The support has been awe-some. The community has been very welcoming and helpful".Dodge County has also been there for the house from the startwhether it is Drug Court, the judicial system or Human Services; allhave helped with the success of the DBL.
Another part of staying at the house are the random nightchecks performed three to four times a week. These checks include
both breathalyzer and urine checks. "The house is not staffed atnight, but these checks assure us clients are staying sober and fol-lowing guidelines", Jessica points out.
Clients come from all over the country as well as from regionaltreatment centers such as Hazelton and Fountain Center. Many arereferred through Mayo Clinic. Generally DBL is a self pay and statefunded program. When clients get a job the state portion is cut backand the clients are responsible for a portion of their stay with somegoing to a savings account in the client's name. "This money helpsthem rent and furnish an apartment when they leave", says Jessica.Finding a job is essential in starting a new life along with paying aportion of their stay. “This is real life”, states Jessica.
What does the future hold for DBL? Jessica is currently workingon attaining her Drug and Alcohol counseling degree that shehopes will help DBL become a treatment center. She is also takingcollege classes toward a degree in social work. Never mind the factshe has a husband and two children and only one other fulltimeemployee, Wendy Kruger, house manager, and another on-callemployee, Karen Stage. It is obvious this is a labor of love for Jessicaand Wendy who have worked together since DBL opened.
Jessica is also envisioning the house growing-both in physicalsize and program offerings. Currently the meeting schedule is asfollows; Monday 7 p.m. Women's Group, Thursday 7 p.m. Big Book, and Saturday 7:00 p.m. Open Topic and Sunday 6:00p.m. RecoverySupport Group. She would like to see the addition of a family sup-port group for adults and kids. She would also like to see the cur-rent meeting area remodeled and enlarged. At this time the groupsmeet in the garage of the house; adequate, but a larger, improvedarea would be a welcome change.
Upcoming events include a Chili Feed and RaffleFundraiser on Saturday, December 1st at 4:30 at St.John's. The evening will include speakers telling their storiesinvolving the house and there will be kids activities with face paint-ing, wacky hair, and games. The community is invited to attend.
When asked if anything more could be done to help DBL, Jessicasays no, there is not a need at this time, the community has been sogenerous. She and Wendy want to make sure community membersknow they appreciate all that has been done to help them do whatthey love to do, provide lodging, support, and guidance for those inrecovery.

LEGAL NOTICEWasioja Township
Snow Removal PolicyPURPOSE: To give the citizens of Wasioja Township a realistic
expectation of the snow and ice removal services that will be providedduring the winter season.
GOAL: The general goal of the Township is to keep the townshiproads passable during the most heavily traveled periods of the week.Service is prioritized by the most logical routing pattern.
OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES: The first priority is to make ALLroads passable. Once all roads are passable, the lanes will then bewidened, and abrasive material applied if necessary. Finally, additionalclean up will be done, if time allows before the next snow.
Wasioja Township has only one operator, one snow plow, and onetruck. Operator duty shifts must be limited to 12 hours per day for safetyreasons, therefore in no case is 24 hour a day coverage provided. Icingand snow drifting on roads are an expected aspect of winter travel andgenerally are not adequate justification to dispatch the snow plow. Hoursof operation will be determined by weather conditions and/or traffic vol-ume.
Weekends and holidays will receive a reduced level of service, due tolower traffic volume and limited resources available. If the weather ser-vice has recommended no travel, it is assumed there will be lower trafficvolume, resulting in lower level of service. Operations will be haltedwhen conditions are too hazardous, or if reasonable accomplishmentscannot be made.
EMERGENCY CALLS: Snow plows will not be dispatched at nighton most roads except for true emergency calls such as assisting, firedepartments, ambulance crews, or searching for known strandedmotorists.
STATE LAW PROHIBITS ANY PUSHING OR DUMPING OFSNOW ONTO TOWNSHIP ROAD RIGHT OF WAY.

Under the previous ownership Dick Winchell did not haveaccess to the newest devices, often times not until severalweeks and even months after they were already being mar-keted by the big box stores and agents. Since BeMobile isclassified as a premium retailer their access to the newestphones and accessories is immediate. "We have everythingthey have in Rochester, and more.. " said Nicki.
