MEDIA NOTIFICATION

TLANTA, GA L2Networks (L2N) is pursuing criminal charges against Mediacom Communications Corporationt least one o its call-center employees as the Georgia-based company is alleging that there were acts o identity ire raud and a number o other inractions that took place in violation o Iowa, Georgia state and ederal laws. Thleged acts originated rom a Mediacom call center in Des Moines, Iowa.

2N has sent open letters to the Iowa State Department o Justice and the Georgia State Attorneys ofce as well

everal other agencies. The organization has requested that a ormal investigation be immediately undertaken intoctions o Mediacom, its employees and ofcers. L2N also believes that Mediacom engaged in anti-competitive beor and market manipulation in contradiction to state and ederal laws and that these actions have provided Mediaith an unair competitive advantage.

raig Davis, the senior technical operations manager o L2Ns Southeast region, began investigating these allegatter he was alerted to a suspicious series o events. Call center sta had received multiple inbound technical supequests rom the same commercial customer, and this person had repeatedly requested technical inormation reng their account, inormation that should have already been known to this person/entity.

r. Davis then made contact with this person to confrm the customers identity and to disclose the requested ino

on. He did this himsel as a precaution to avoid inadvertent disclosure o confdential customer proprietary netwoormation (CPNI). However, the customer then communicated to Mr. Davis that she was unaware that she had mny such request and that she had not contacted L2N on multiple occasions.

ter Mr. Davis notifed Kraig Beahn, the acting CEO o L2N, and the executive team, an internal investigation was mediately launched. It was at this time that it was discovered that the calls that had included raudulent impersonat one o L2Ns customers had originated rom Mediacoms business sales and support center in Des Moines.

2Networks has also identifed multiple occasions when Mediacom has impersonated L2Networks in order to tranelephone numbers rom L2Ns service and to acquire wholesale customer records otherwise deemed confdentiaade-secret to L2Networks.
