The organization or event must also be open to the public, addressing a social issue, and community focused. Agency Description Odyssey of the Mind is an international problem solving
program. Public and Private school aged students are given
the opportunity to learn creative problem solving,
teamwork, brainstorming, self-reliance, and respect for
individual strengths. Teams of students, under the guidance
of a coach, pool their diverse talents to find innovative
solutions to the annual long-term problems. The problem
solving skills acquired while participating in Odyssey of the
Mind help mold our students to become future leaders of
the community. The community becomes involved by
individuals volunteering to judge and coach students for
competition. After receiving training, our community
volunteers take back strategies that can be implemented into
todays workplace. Many past participants return to
volunteer with the program because the program had such a
positive impact on their life.

Agency Description Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System

libraries with open access, a community focus, responsive
