Introduction

It has been an eventful 5 years building Omnicon. What began as a simple need to have great events for our Rio Grande Valley, has evolved into a solid community. We have always tried to provide the anime fan culture an event made by fans for fans. So many people in the video game, anime, and comic book community travel from their homes and budget a trip to another city to enjoy themselves. It didn't take long for the community to realize that it was time the RGV had its own event. With the passing years we have cultivated a special brand of convention mentality, which has turned into a deep understanding of the wants and needs of our fans. We now look to put the RGV on the map as part of the Texas CON Circuit. As we stand now, Omnicon is still working hard on improving itself and the community as a whole, actively pursuing cooperation opportunities throughout the RGV. Currently we have worked with the city of McAllen on the city wide festival, Palm Fest, and hosted monthly meet ups with the McAllen Library, showcasing anime and Manga to a following of over a hundred people. Last year we broke all records with a gathering of more than 2,000 people attending each day. Omnicon has just begun providing great fan driven events and this year we are primed to show the world what our culture has to oer.

Comic Book Guests

He Has been working in the comics industry since 2000. I start working for Dark Horse on the DHP book doing 4 small stories. After that I jumped to DC comics working on JLA Jr., Superman, Impulse, Batman Orphans, JLU, Outsiders, Blue Bettle, Flash and Batman Brave and the Bold. At Marvel I have worked on titles like New Mutants, a mini-series called Ororo: Before the Storm, some pages for an X-Force annual and an Age of X short story in issue one. But for the last 2 and a half years I have been drawing Deadpool in his main title full time.(Artist - Deadpool; Batman: The Brave and the Bold; Justice League Unlimited; Superman/Batman; Adventures of Superman; Age of X: Alpha; The Flash; Superboy; Superman; X-Force;)

Best known for his rampages through the world of giant monster art, Matt Frank began working in the industry about halfway through college at the University of Texas in Austin. First working with Blue Water Productions, he provided covers for the Ray Harryhausen Presents series, culminating with his rst one-shot, Wrath of the Titans: Cyclops, which he co-wrote and illustrated both the cover and the interior pencils. He capped his graduation in 2008 with both a Studio Art degree and his rst work with IDW, providing character illustrations for the Transformers: Beast Wars Sourcebook. Frank then moved on to work on the over-200-page graphic novel, Vasteel Heart, with Gleaming Scythe Productions. He nally got his true "big break" working with his lifelong love, the Godzilla franchise, by providing covers for Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters and Godzilla: Gangsters and Goliaths in 2011, starting as the lead artist on the "Store-Stomping" issue 1 promotion.
