COURSES OFFERID: Bachelor of Science Degree Course in Nursing {Regular}

DURATION

o The programme shall extend over a period o{ four academic years including ln-tegrated Nursing Training(lnternship for 24 weeks ) . University examinations areconducted at the end of each academic year .

o The curriculum and the syllabus for the course shall be as prescribed by the RajivGandhi University and is subject to modification from time to tjme .

INfERNSHIP

o lnternship means 8 hours of lntegrated clinical duties in which 2 weeks of eveningand night shift duties are included in the final year .

r Internship should be carried out as 8 hours per day @ 43 hours per week .

o Students during internship will be supervised by nursing teachers .

e Fourth year final examination will be hetd only after completing internship

English shall be the medium of instruction for all the subjects of study and for examina-tions of the Bachelor of science Degree course in Nursing .

ATTENDANCE

o A candidate is required to put in a minirnum of 90% of attendance in theory and$o% in practicaUclinical separately in each subject every year befcre admission tothe examinations

o A candidate who lacks attendance of the clinical experience for reasons other thanavailing eligible sick leave (10 days )will be required to compensate during vacation

o A candidate must have IaCI % attendance in each of the practical areas beforeaward of degree .

APPRAISAL

Performance of the student is assessed by the system of :

' Regular periodic assessment shall be conducted throughout course Jhe averagemarks of the best two performances shall be taken into consideration for the awardof internal assessment of marks both theory and practical

o Percentage of attendance and submission of assignment on time is to be evaluatedby the subject teachers .

o The student is expected to maintain high standard in academic and clinical pedor-mance throughout the programme .

Note: Candidate shall submit a record of clinical work, assignment done during theacademic year on or before 15 days prior to theory examination every year .

HOTIDAYS

o Four weeks of summer vacafion and two weeks of winter vacation in an academicyear as per notification of the Rajiv Gandhi University.

MODE OF PAYMENT OF FEE

The fees should be paid in the form of crossed demand draft to be drawn in favour of theNorth East Nursing College of Health Science,ltanagar .Fees, once remitted, will not berefunded. The fee structure is subject to revision from time to time.

r Prescribed fees of each academic year should be paid at the beginning of thesession for each year. The exact fees to be paid by students of all categorieswill be made known at the time of selection I admission.

r No student willbe allqw-ed to attend classes unless she complies with all theadmission requirements and pays all the fees for the year.

GENERAL INFO*MATION

o Students who voluntarily withdraw from the college shall be required to

pay full fees for the entire course.

r The college does not take any responsibility for the loss of personal property.Students who keep any valuable goods such as jewellery do so at their own risk.

r Vacations are planned according to the programme. lf a student is not able toreturn on time due to illness, the Principal should be intimated immediately,followed by a written explanation. On return she should submit a medical cer-tificate issued by a registered medical practitioner stating the full delails of herillness and treatment. Normally no other leave will be given.
