Pastor’s Corner
“Your life is hidden with Christ in God” Colossian's 3
There was a young man despite his wealth and securities was unhappy. He came across a well known holy man, who lived very simply. Shocked at his simplicity and contentment the young man asked “where are your possessions, valuables etc.?” Where are yours, asked the holy man? The young man said “I’m only pass-ing through. Well, “so am I, said the holy man! Yes, we are all passing through, nothing last forever. Death is a necessary passage for everyone. There is more to life to secure happiness than wealth and possessions. You can’t take it with you as the saying goes. We can take however, integrity, hon-esty, faith and charity. These are the treas-ures Jesus says to build up in heaven. Je-sus is not condemning riches but how we use them. Our self importance is not found in what we have, our name or title. Before we had name or bank account God gave His all to us. Look to the Cross there you’ll find yourself importance. As St. Paul writes “think of what is above not what is of this earth. Your life is hidden there in Christ. Happy Summer, Father Murray

Eucharistic Adoration Our day of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will return on Monday’s in September. Please look for our schedule in the bulletin. Many thanks for all your time spent in prayer and adoration before the Lord. No doubt your prayers will bring many favors and blessings to our parish community.
St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Know that gratitude for God’s benefits is one of the riches
of the soul, and that ingratitude dries up the fountain of
divine graces. Give your tribute of gratitude often to the
most loving Jesus.

DO YOU KNOW YOUR TRIBUNAL?
The Tribunal is available to help people who have experienced divorce and who may wish to remarry in the Catholic Church. When a divorce occurs, the Catholic Church always seeks to balance two reali-ties. On one hand the durable bond of mar-riage. This is God’s law. On the other hand, the Church is concerned about the spiritual welfare of the people involved. Even though a Catholic wedding was celebrated,
perhaps there was some deficiency in the consent of the parties involved regarding intentions, understanding or ability? The annulment procedure addresses these cir-cumstances. If you are divorced and want to marry in the Church or remarried outside the Catholic Church, please tele-phone the Tribunal Office at 222 North l7th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 (215) 587-3750
