  • Marriage Preparation Guidelines

    Planning a summer or

    fall wedding in 2018?

    Archdiocese of San Francis-

    co guidelines require a six-

    month period of preparation

leading up to your big day.

The first step is to contact the Parish of-

fice to check on available dates and set up an

initial meeting with a member of the clergy.

It is with great joy that we welcome into

our church and community the following

    children who received the

Thought about singing with the adult choir, but

    couldn’t commit long-term? A short-term option is

available! The choir has just begun rehearsals for

the cantata “Come to the Cross and Remember”

which will be sung on Good Friday, March 30.

Those interested in joining the choir for the cantata

may contact our Music Director Christopher

Lindstrom at 650-588-1455 ext. 308, or visit him at

the organ before or after weekend Masses.

  • Reflecting on the Word

    Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

Do people point at you and say, “Behold, a

follower of Christ”? Do they follow you? Do you

ask why they’re following you and invite them to

follow Jesus, as Andrew invited Simon now known

as Peter? We put on Christ at baptism, so to see us

is to see Jesus. We became his servants. We prom-

ised to seek to know God’s will and to live it in clear

and concrete ways. So these questions are not far-

    fetched.

The Corinthians were beginning to learn that

listening to God’s voice and following Jesus Christ

asked them to change their lives. They were called

to glorify God and live as temples of the Holy Spirit.

So are we. Following Jesus means that how we treat

one another, care for ourselves, make decisions, and

care for creation looks different than how we’d live

without being members of his body. Listening for

God’s voice is a beginning, but we also need to re-

flect on what we hear. Then we need to respond by

living differently because of what we’ve heard.

According to St. Francis de Sales, we carry the

Lord on our tongues, recounting his deeds and prais-

ing him. We carry him in our hearts with tender

love and affection. But these two ways do not

amount to much unless we carry the Lord in our

arms by living the ways of God clearly and concrete-

ly. Listen for God’s voice. Contemplate what you

hear. Then share the fruits of your contemplation by

living Jesus so clearly that others point to you and

say, “Behold, a follower of Christ, the Lamb of

    God!”

    For Prayerful Consideration & Discussion

How do you listen for and reflect upon God’s

    will in your life?

What in your life leads others to point and say,

“Behold, a follower of Jesus Christ”?
