Page 3: Study time app presentation

What is the Problem?

The problem that our app solves is...

● Procrastination

Lack of concentration●Lack of motivation

● Long time spent working.

Page 4: Study time app presentation

How can you become more

productive when studying?

Page 5: Study time app presentation

Stop procrastinating!

Page 6: Study time app presentation

Our team, APPsolutely Brilliant, is developing an app to help students to organise their study time and

become more productive. We are making this app so that students can stop their procrastination and

spend more time focusing on work.

What is our App?

Here is a link to our one minute pitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWFWACl_K7U

Age:13Gender: femaleResponse To App: This is a great app that I would really use. It is great that I can customize the study and break screen, so it motivates me more to study which is really useful. I have mock GCSEs coming up at the end of term so I will be needing an app like this. Really great app!

Sophie Price

Age:17Gender:femaleResponse To App: I really need an app like this and haven’t been able to find one. I have A-levels coming up and really need to get my head down to get to university. I also love that there’s a planner section because I am on the head girl team and really need to organise my time efficitiently which this app would do.

Isaac Stennett

Age: 16Gender: maleResponse To App: This really interested me as a user and I’m not really into the app world but I think it is amazing if you could create this because I think it would be really popular. I love everything about this app, but maybe make the background customizable too.

Chris Mitchell

Age: 15Gender: male Response To App: I loved this app, even though it hasn’t even been created yet. I would totally download it and tell my friends to as well, this is amazing! I love the schedule, so helpful and really great for teenagers with exams coming up. 5 stars!

Here is some of our user feedback:

Page 8: Study time app presentation

This app, called Study Checker by Mjsoft, is very similar to ours. It checks how long you are studying and how long you are on break, and shows you how you could improve. This is great because it has many resources to help you

check, and has different subjects etc. Unlike our app though, it doesn’t organise study, just records it.

This app, called iStudiezPro helps organise your exam and homework schedule. This app is like a mini diary and gives you reminders about your deadlines. This is similar to our organisation part of the app, but not like the studying part.

Here are some other apps that are already on the market and similar to ours:

● Our app’s core features are the ability to lock the user’s phone and a ‘To do’ list.

● The feedback that we collected from our target audience after giving them an overview of our app and an idea of the user experience is as follows:○ The main features of our app which received positive responses were

that our app is very practical and solves a common problem and also that is allows the user to be in full control.

○ Another feature which received some positive feedback was that our app is very simple and easy to use and understand. For example, the way the ‘To do’ list is organised by importance using colour makes it easier to understand.

● As for feedback that suggested potential improvements for our app, they are as follows: ○ One suggested improvement of our app was that currently the user is

able to control how long their breaks are and how many there are but a suggestion was that the app should include a feature that allows the user to control the intervals at which the app is placed.

Study To-do List

Click here to view our interactive mockup.

Here is where you decide how long you would like to study for, how many breaks you will take and how long those breaks will be.

You will also be able to choose a picture for the study and break screens.

You can access your to-do list from here as well.

Breaks are evenly spaced throughout the study time.

Page 12: Study time app presentation

This is the study zone, here your phone will be shut down until your time is up.

There is a progress bar and timer so you are aware of how long you have left..

You can access the to-do list from here

Page 13: Study time app presentation

This is the break zone, here your phone is still shut down, and you are encouraged to relax/stretch/have a glass of water before resuming study.

Page 14: Study time app presentation

After study time has finished, you will receive a notification accompanied with an alert sound and will be directed back to the to-do list.

Page 15: Study time app presentation

This is the to-do list. Here you can add items that you need to complete, tick off what you have done and check what you need to do next.

The to-do list can be accessed from the study zone and welcome page. You will be directed back to where you came from when you have finished.

Items that are due sooner are coloured red. those that are due later are coloured green.

How Feasible is our App?Overall, our app is very easy to create. We don’t need a large amount of coding to be done to create this app because our screen and features are quite simple. To use the app will not require a wifi signal, making it even easier to use our app anywhere. We think this is best because it may decrease users if they have to have an internet connection for studying.

Our business model

We have chosen to go with the basic business model that a lot of popular apps, newspapers and websites use. We plan to have adverts on our app, and then people can pay to remove them. This is a great way of generating income because the app is still free ( which our customers were looking for) but we could still make a profit from the app.

Customer pledges

From our survey and customer feedback we got 57 pledges out of 60. From this response we knew that people enjoyed our app and no one gave any negative feedback or didn’t want to use the app. Also this showed us that our business model was very popular, and the customers liked it.

Page 18: Study time app presentation

Marketing StrategyOur marketing strategy is to make our app as popular as possible to create a steady profit. We plan to do this by adverts, which may cost a lot, but the outcome will make us more. We will charge companies for adverts or sponsorships of our app. This is the most efficient way to make a profit because people also have the choice to remove the adverts for a payment. Also, users are likely to download the app because it is free, unlike other apps which charge to make a profit.

Page 19: Study time app presentation

Whilst creating our app, we thought that it was important to have feedback from people within the industry in order to gain some advice of the different ways that we could run our app, which would be most feasible and, out of our various ideas, which most appropriate for us to do. In some of our work sessions we were able to talk to two experts within the app industry who gave us some feedback of which we found very useful. Some of this advice included and evaluation of which of our ideas they thought would be best for us to do and included taking into account our understanding of the target audience, how common the problem that we wished to solve was, how well our app solved the problem and also how easy our app would be to make.Another main aspect of the creating of our app was deciding on which business plan to go for. Again, we did our best to do an independent evaluation of which we thought was best and then we went to look for some extra advice from advice from workers within the industry.

What did we do to help create our app?

Page 20: Study time app presentation

To conclude

• Our app fills a gap in the market and helps any students to study efficiently and organise themselves from anywhere.

• It is fun and useful as well as easily accessible.

• We will make a profit from adverts in our app and from a paid, ad-free version.
