Task 3-what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Distribution is sharing something to lots of people in this case films, via cinema, digital download, DVD, they are often advertised on TV with a trailer before release for people to see if they like the look of it and want to watch it in cinemas. distribution of films is done by different production companies. For example here are some film distributers:• 20th century fox • Warner brothers• Dream works • Walt disney• Universal • Paramount

Mistaken identity(production company)

• Our film is a secret agent/action genre, some distribution companies are likely to be interested in our film as lots of companies produce secret agent type films. If they like the look of it and it’s the sort of genre they distribute they will be interested. For example mission impossible’s production company is sky dance productions. Sky dance productions also produce a lot of other action/thriller films including, all mission impossible films, jack reacher and terminator films.

• Our film appeals to mainly UK audiences as its set in the UK but it could also appeal to anyone in the world that likes the secret agent genre, with action and the thrill. Our main target audience would be 15-25 year olds who like action/thriller films. The film would be advertised on TV and possibly on the radio, to be shown in cinemas or available via DVD or digital download.

• Our film would be advertised on TV and over radio, to be seen in cinemas like Odeon,Vue and empire, afterwards available on DVD, for people to see if they like the sound of it and want to watch it.

Self distribution• Our film could be self distributed via social

media, by posting it on YouTube and sending links to people on apps like twitter or Facebook for people to watch it. Then afterwards they could use the social media sites to give feedback on what they thought of the film. Also by sending links to friends on messaging apps like whatsapp and Facebook messenger.
