Lotterywest and Healthways will be visiting Quairading, come along and hear how your community group can best apply for project and event funding. Sarah Caporn, the Shire’s Grants & Projects Officer will also be presenting the Shire’s 2019 Small Community Grants process. JIGSAW SWAP Tuesday 5 March, 10am. Anyone is welcome to join us at the Café for a cuppa and to swap their jigsaw (which can be any degree of difficulty; children’s through to challenging). Any queries to Sue Anderson on 9645 1661. EMMET LIVE ON THE LAWN Friday 8 March, 7pm—Late at the Shackelton & District Club. Put on your dancing shoes! Hamburgers, fish or nuggets and chips for the kids! RED CARD FOX SHOOT The next shoot will be 8 & 9 March with a count (tails only) at the Community Building on Sunday 10 March. The LCDC will put on a breakfast at 8:30am followed by prize giving. Thank you to the Minchin family for assisting with a group of shooters from Perth. Still looking for another local property for another group of shooters from Perth. KIMCHI WORKSHOP Saturday 9 March, 9am—12pm at the Quairading CRC. $30 per person, bookings essential. Come along to the CRC for an interactive and informative fermentation workshop by Janet Robertson from Nourishabley. Please bring with you a large glass mixing bowl, large knife, chopping board and wooden spoon. Jars, ingredients and morning tea will be supplied. Call or email the Quairading CRC. QUILTERS OF QUAIRADING PATCHWORK WEEKEND Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March, at the Community Building. “Mystery Quilt As You Go” or work on your own project. Setting up Friday afternoon with social sewing to follow if you wish. Show & Tell will be held on Saturday 9 March at approximately 2:30pm. Please contact Janice on 0429 080 660 if you require more information. CAR PARK MARKETS Saturday 17 March will be the first Car Park Markets for 2019. Time to go through your cupboards and pantries and rehome unwanted items. No need to book a stall, $5 per bay, payable on the day. Proceeds go to the Tidy Towns Committee and Old Railway Station. Stall holders to supply their own tables, seating, etc. Set up time from 6am on the day. Devonshire teas available at the Old Railway Station. Enquires to Ivy on 0429 799 853. BIKE AROUND THE BUSH Please note new meeting place. Tuesday 19 March, 3pm—6pm in the Quairading Nature Reserve. A refreshing change of venue for this year’s Bike Week event. Bring your family and meet us at the Golf Club car park for a spot of Bike Ed before exploring the trails within the reserve on a nature inspired scavenger hunt. HR, HC & MC TRUCK LICENSES Monday 1 April—Friday 12 April 2019. Busselton Advanced Driver Training will be visiting Quairading in April this year and again in September to conduct truck licencing. Bookings are essential and minimum numbers are required before specific dates are confirmed. Please contact the Quairading CRC for further information and to book. CASINO BUS TRIP Tuesday 16 April, a coach will pick you up and return you to Quairading for $25 per person. Seats are available to all community members over 18. QDHS COMMUNITY SERVICE Our local High School students will be participating in community service activities each Friday from 12:10pm—1:10pm. If your organisation, group or club needs

help with setting up, maintenance, sorting, serving, printing, folding, cleaning, organising, advertising etc please get in touch with Abby, [email protected] or 9645 1208. Our students would be happy to assist! ST JOHN HEART GRANT St Johns, in conjunction with Lotterywest, now have applications open for the St John Heart Grant. This grant offers a defibrillator to be located for public community use for just $200. Normally retailing for over $2,000, the package includes a defibrillator unit, lock box and necessary first aid training. If your not-for-profit sporting or community group wishes to apply for this grant, please go to: stjohnwa.com.au/st-john-heart-grant. Applications are open until 28 February 2019. CURTAIN RAISERS CATERING Expressions of interest are being called for organisations and/or businesses to undertake the catering for the four performances of the Curtain Raisers production for 2019. QUAIRADING CWA COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP Quairading CWA are offering a Community Scholarship for a child aged 6-15 undertaking external study in music, art, dance, martial arts training or other courses. This first scholarship will cover the cost of lessons for a 12 month period with a review on completion. Applications in writing outlining your particular course and cost as well as a short resume should be forwarded addressed to: CWA Scholarship PO Box 169, Quairading, 6383 by the 24 February 2019. Any and all netballers or netball supporters are encouraged to come along for this pre-season meeting. Please invite anyone you think may be interested in playing with the Belles this year. QUAIRADING HOCKEY CLUB Wednesday 27 February, 7pm at the Club. The QLHC will be holding their Annual General Meeting, all hockey enthusiasts welcome.
