This year, at the Pentecostals of Sydney we have been taking a fresh look at what it means to live in God’s Kingdom as citizens and heirs of His promise. Including the privileges and responsibilities reserved for us. One aspect that has challenged the mindsets of many is that ministry is only for those who have a ministerial license or have been anointed as leaders.

Let me dispel this misconception once again to remind you that all of us are, not only called as God’s children, but also his ministers or servants. Ephesians 4:11-12 tells us that; “He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,” ESV

Paul clearly states that the responsibility of the leadership is to equip and empower the rest of the Church for the work of ministry and to edify the body of Christ. Thus the work of ministry is for the saints. There is a distinction in the work but everyone is expected to be involved in serving others and building up the Church.

So the question is, what are you doing to build up the Church, your fellow believer, your brother and sister in Christ, as well as building up the Kingdom of God?

Family SundaySunday, 5 June 2016 10:00am service only

When there are five Sundays in one month we combine Morning and Evening Worship. We moved Family Sunday from the final Sunday of May (29 May).

Family Sunday is a great chance for the whole POS to come together. We believe that the church is a family, we are all sons and daughters of God, so this will be a wonderful time for the POS "Family" to spend together in worship of our Lord and Saviour!

National Ladies Conference22 - 24 July 2016 Stanwell Tops Conference Centre $160 per person

Every year the ladies of the churches in NSW and ACT get together for a weekend away of fun, fellowship and spiritual growth.

It is always a tremendous time for our ladies and you will not want to miss out!

The Conference is $160 per person for the entire weekend. The ladies will be taking registrations beginning 15 May.

Admittedly we are living in a consumer-driven society, where many are on a constant pursuit of personal gain and accumulation of resources. And unfortunately, we can take the same approach even in the Church; seeking only to gain some personal benefit. Maturity comes, however, when we are actively involved in serving, giving and building up others.

I want to challenge you in this midpoint of the year, to look to becoming a builder of souls and the Church. We have various ministries that you can get involved in, including; teaching Bible studies, Life groups, Music team, Greeters ministry and of course to become a Disciple Maker, connecting with and teaching a new believer in the ways of Christ. Be a Builder and not just a consumer!

Life GroupThis year we have started a new small group initiative on Wednesday Nights that we are excited about, it is called Life Group.

These are groups that meet at church and across Sydney covering a wide range of topics. The groups will be meeting for 9 weeks and then there will be sign-ups for the next term that will include some different topics. Term 2 is concluding on 22 June.

This is a great way for you to learn and grow in many areas of your life, but also meet other members of the POS that you may not yet know.

Sunday SchoolSunday School operates every Sunday morning following the worship service. We have classes that accommodate children from 4 to 12 years old. Classes are always fun and exciting so make sure your children are getting the most out of the their visit to the POS.

Life StudiesLife Studies are an enjoyable, non-threatening way to learn more about the Bible. We can meet with you in

your home, our home, or a coffee shop. The studies are less than an hour but have

the power to change your life. Contact one of our hosts if you would like to start a Life Study.
