Love Came Down At this time of year, the world at large observes this period of the birth of Christ. While most merely view it as a tradition and holiday, with their understanding of the story and it’s implications limited, but for Believers it is cause for celebration not just once a year but everyday. The incarnation of Christ is the means by which we obtain salvation. But in simple terms it can be described as ‘Love Came Down’. It reminds of a story of a little toddler who had been very naughty and in order to discipline him, his mother kept him in his play-pen for a few hours and was not allowed out. As to be expected, the child cried and complained and after receiving no reprieve from his mother, the child’s attention turned to his grandfather. The grandfather was careful not to undermine the mother’s authority but was so moved by the child’s crying that he tried to think of what he could do. After some consideration, he surprised the child by stepping into the pen where he was held and sat there with him to keep the child company, for the duration of his punishment. This is exactly what God did for us. He came into the world and became a man firstly because His love for us compelled him. Not only did God’s love bring him to us but it caused him to take the punishment for our sins that we may inherit eternal life. So that we may love him forever. Hello and welcome to The Pentecostals of Sydney where you can experience new life in Christ!

Love Came Down

At this time of year, the world at large observes this period of the birth of Christ.

After some

consideration, he surprised the child by stepping into the pen where he was held and sat there with him to keep the child company, for the duration of his punishment.

This is exactly what God did for us. He came into the world and became a man firstly because His love for us compelled him. Not only did God’s love bring him to us but it caused him to take the punishment for our sins that we may inherit eternal life. So that we may love him forever.

Thank you Jesus for your great love manifested towards us.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (KJV) ! ! ! ! ! !

Midweek Services Wednesdays7:30pm

In the month of December and January we give our Home Group Leaders a break and we have services at the POS on Wednesday instead of meeting in homes. It is a great night of worship and teaching of the Word of God. That being said there will be no Midweek Services on the 24th or 31st of this month.

Love Came DownChristmas CelebrationSunday, 21 December 201310am & 6:30pm

It’s that time of year again! On this Sunday we will be setting it aside to celebrate the reason for the season, the birth of Jesus. This is a perfect opportunity for you to invite your friends and family to a time of worship, carols and to hear the real Christmas story. There will be performances from the POS band, Chorale, Choir, Children’s Choir and others. It is going to be an incredible day at the POS! You will not want to miss it!

UPCA General Conference 20152-7 January 2015Whitlam Centre, Liverpool, NSWGuest Speakers: Jack Leaman & Raymond Woodward
