LA RECUPERACIÓN DEL SECTOR LOGÍSTICO

El reconocimiento profesional es resultado de un trabajo

bien hecho y también es señal de que una actividad tie-

ne cada vez más presencia pública. Felizmente, ambas

circunstancias se están dando en Barcelona entorno a los

profesionales logísticos. En efecto, la sociedad catalana y

española es hoy muy consciente de la envergadura econó-

mica de la actividad logística y tanto empresa privada como

administraciones públicas ven la logística como una priori-

dad para el desarrollo de su área de influencia o negocio.

La logística nos proporciona la oportunidad de ensanchar

horizontes y negocios ya que es un instrumento al servicio

de la producción a fin de hacer más eficiente y eficaz su

distribución.

Con la globalización económica se ha ido desarrollando el

comercio internacional, y con él las tecnologías y estrate-

gias de mercado que han dado como resultado una logís-

tica cada vez más eficiente, especializada y profesional. El

implementar una correcta estrategia logística internacional

dará como resultado reducir los costos e incrementar las

ventas a nivel mundial.

Barcelona no puede estar en la vanguardia de las ciuda-

des innovadoras sin contar con un sector logístico fuerte,

cosa que impulsa, año tras año, el SIL el cual se ha con-

vertido en el salón líder de España y el sur de Europa que

aglutina los sectores de la logística y la manutención.

Los resultados del SIL 2014 han dejado de manifiesto la

recuperación del sector, que ha contado con una masiva

afluencia de profesionales y un elevado número de contac-

tos y volumen de negocio, además de cumplir con uno de

sus objetivos prioritarios: ser el Salón más internacional de

su historia, convirtiéndolo en un verdadero espacio para el

know-how y para los negocios de referencia mundial.

Se inscriben en esta voluntad los contactos internaciona-

les que estamos propiciando con zonas francas del ex-

tranjero, especialmente en el caso de Marruecos, y con

países con los que tenemos vínculos, como es el caso

de Colombia, que ha sido este año invitado del SIL y en

el que promoveremos junto con socios locales un evento

ferial en Cartagena de Índias en 2015.

THE RECOVERY OF THE LOGISTICS SECTOR

Professional recognition is the result of a job well done

as well as a sign that an activity has a growing public

presence. Happily, both circumstances are happening

in Barcelona in the case of logistics professionals. In-

deed, Catalan and Spanish societies are nowadays

well aware of the economic significance of the logis-

tics activity and both private companies and public

administrations see logistics as a priority for the deve-

lopment of their influence or business areas.

Logistics gives us the opportunity to broaden hori-

zons and businesses being a tool at the service of

production for making its distribution more effective

and efficient.

Economic globalisation has brought the development

of international trade and, with it, market technologies

and strategies that have resulted in a more efficient,

specialized and professional logistics. Implementing a

right international logistics strategy will result in costs

reduction and worldwide sales increase.

Barcelona cannot stand on the frontline of the innovati-

ve cities without having a strong logistics sector, which

is fostered, year after year, by SIL which has become

the leader exhibition in Spain and southern Europe and

which gathers together the logistics and handling ma-

terial sectors.

The results of SIL 2014, which has had a massive at-

tendance of professionals, great number of contacts

and high business volume, have revealed the recovery

of the sector. The exhibition has also achieved one its

main goals: to get to be the most international exhibi-

tion in its history, becoming a worldwide reference true

space for know-how and business.

As part of this will, we are fostering international rela-

tions with foreign free zones, especially from Moroc-

co, and with countries with which we already have

links, such as Colombia which has been this year’s

SIL Guest Country and where we will promote to-

gether as local partners an event in Cartagena de

Índias in 2015.

El SIL 2014 celebró su decimosexta edición cu-briendo todos sus objetivos, logrando más empresas par-ticipantes, más visitantes profesionales, mayor calidad de los mismos, más actos paralelos de empresas que nunca, presentando el mayor Congreso Internacional del sector y reforzando su carácter internacional. El Salón, durante estos dieciséis años, se ha convertido en cita obligada y el punto de encuentro del sector de la logística de Ca-taluña, de España y de Europa, para muchos países del mundo en el mes de junio.

Han sido 17 años de intenso trabajo de un equipo profe-sional con un claro objetivo: conseguir que España tuviera primero un Symposium y después un Salón de logística para el sector que fuera un auténtico referente internacio-nal. Hoy, podemos decir sin falsas modestias que el SIL es el segundo Salón logístico de Europa y el primero de España.

En la edición del 2014 de nuevo el SIL volvió a ser un lugar de excepción para conocer de primera mano oportunida-des internacionales de gran nivel, ya que contamos con la participación de Colombia como país invitado, la parti-cipación de un 45% de empresas extranjeras y la partici-pación de Colombia como País Invitado del SIL 2014. Al mismo tiempo celebramos la 12ª edición del Fórum Me-diterráneo de Logística y Transporte y la 3ª edición de la Cumbre Latinoamericana de Logística y Transporte con éxito. De este modo, el SIL puso nuevamente en práctica otro aspecto clave de su filosofía: ir siempre por delante, buscar los lugares y oportunidades con mayor potencial de crecimiento futuro.

Hace 16 años, fuimos capaces de dar vida a una idea, a un proyecto. Nos convertimos casi en visionarios por creer que un espacio dedicado a un sector como el de la Logística, que aún tenía mucho camino por recorrer, podría llegar tan lejos. El tiempo, el trabajo y el esfuerzo de muchos nos han dado la razón.

No sé hasta donde podremos llegar. Pero el equipo hu-mano que presido tiene siempre como objetivo crecer, mejorar los servicios y ser útil al sector, sin dormirse por-que, aunque no es tarea fácil, nos hemos convertido en un modelo a seguir, copiar y batir. De hecho, tienen ante ustedes imágenes de una realidad exitosa fruto de mucho esfuerzo e ilusión: un Salón 2014 que ha supuesto un punto de inflexión para el sector confirmando su recupe-ración, en donde se han hecho muchos contactos y ne-gocios, reactivando el sector en tiempos de dificultades, aspecto que tiene más mérito aún si cabe.

Por mi parte, un compromiso: mejorar y crecer en todo, calidad, cantidad, internacionalidad y servicios. Sólo me queda agradecer de corazón a todos su participación y su confianza. Seguiremos trabajando por la logística. Muchas gracias a todos.

SIL 2014 has celebrated its 16th edition meeting all its objectives, with more participating companies, more professional visitors of greater quality, more parallel com-pany events than ever, offering the biggest Internacional Congress of the sector and reinforcing its international character. Hence, during these sixteen years, the Exhi-bition has become a must event and the meeting point for the logistics sector of Catalonia, Spain and Europe as well as of many other countries in the world in June.

There have been 17 years of hard work of a professional team with a clear objective: first creating a Symposium and then a logistics Exhibition to help the sector and to become a real international reference. Today we are not being falsely modest when we state that SIL is the se-cond logistics exhibition in Europe and the first one in Spain.

SIL 2014 has been, again, the place to get to know first-hand high level international opportunities since we have received the visit of important international delegations, the participation of 45% foreign companies and the par-ticipation of Colombia as SIL 2014 Guest Country. We have also celebrated our 12th Mediterranean Logistics and Transport Forum and the 3rd edition of the Latin Ame-rican Logistics and Transport Summit, both events with great success. This way SIL developed one more time its work vision: to go one step further, to seek new places and opportunities with more potentially future growth.

Sixteen years ago we were able to materialise an idea into a project. We almost became visionaries who belie-ved that a space dedicated to a sector such as logistics, which had still a long way to go, could get so far. Time, hard work and effort of many have proved us right.

It is uncertain for us how far we will reach. But the human team that I work with is constantly focused on growth, improvement of services and being useful to the sector. We have become a role model to be followed, imitated and beaten, so we are not facing an easy task. May this publication reflect the images of success, as a fruit of much effort and enthusiasm: a 2014 absolutely packed where many contacts and business have been made and reactivating the sector, an aspect that makes SIL even worthier. Thus, on my part, I would like to set forth a commitment: to improve and grow in all areas, square metres, interna-tionality and service. I just would like to sincerely thank you all for your participation and confidence. We will carry on working for logistics.

La gran cantidad y calidad de profesionales asistentes, 550 empresas participantes, un 45% de internacionalidad, el mayor Congreso Internacional del sector con más de 3.600 asisten-tes y 230 ponentes de prestigio internacional y una cifra de negocio mayor a la de la anterior edición son algunos de los datos que confir-man la recuperación del sector de la logística. The great quantity and quality of profes-sional visitors, 550 participating companies, 45% of internationality, the major International Congress of the sector with more than 3.600 attendees and 230 prestigious speakers and a higher turnover in com-parison with the last edition are some of the figures that confirm the recovery of the logistics sector. SIL Competitividad y Futuro fue el espacio donde conocimiento, com-petitividad y búsqueda de talento se dieron la mano para garantizar el éxito profesional de las personas que quieran mejorar su futuro. El jueves 5 de junio el SIL 2014 celebró el Día del Coaching y la Búsqueda de Empleo, con una sesión de coaching por la mañana, a cargo del coacher Borja Vilaseca, dirigida a cómo mejorar las habilidades directi-vas de un logístico, y otra sesión de tarde donde se habilitó un Market Place, organizado en colaboración con Barcelona Activa, para que las empresas con ofertas de empleo pudieran recibir a los candidatos.

SIL Competitiveness and Future was the space where knowled-ge, competitiveness and search of talent merged to ensure the professional success of people who want to improve their future. On Thursday 5th June, SIL 2014 celebrated the Coaching and Job Search Day, with a coaching morning session, by the coacher Borja Vilaseca, aimed to improve the managerial skills of a logistics direc-tor, and another session which hosted a Market Place, organizated in collaboration with Barcelona Activa, so that companies with job offers could receive candidates.

El Exhibition Village, organizado por el SIL y la Fundación ICIL, volvió a ser el espacio de demostración en tiempo real, en el que se presentaron diferentes sistemas de gestión de la información asociados a un flujo lo-gístico. Entre las muchas novedades que se presentaron cabe destacar los drones para analizar espacios y desplazar paquetes, las gafas de realidad aumentada para recoger el material y mantenimiento, tablets que susti-tuyen a los dispositivos industriales o la in-troducción de iBeacons en logística.

El SIL 2014 volvió a celebrar con una gran acogida los Speed Dating y el Networking Lunch del Círculo Logísti-co que tuvieron lugar el martes 3 y el miércoles 4 de ju-nio. Una vez más todas las empresas participantes en el Salón que lo desearon pudieron contactar con los más de 300 directores de logística que mantuvieron más de 900 reuniones di-rectas con otros directores de logística y con empresas participantes del Salón. El Círculo Logístico del SIL 2014 contó con la participación de 839 directores de logística de destacadas empresas de sectores tan diversos como la alimentación y gran con-sumo, automoción, metalurgia y siderurgia, farmacéutico y sanitario, químico o textil.

El Forum Mediterráneo de Logística y Trans-porte celebró su 12ª edición y volvió a con-solidarse como la plataforma anual del sector y un referente de debate sobre los temas de interés y las nuevas políticas del sector de la logística y el transporte en el Mediterráneo. Dentro del marco del 12º Forum Mediterrá-neo de Logística y Transporte tuvo lugar la 7ª Cumbre Mediterránea de Puertos.

El 12º Forum Mediterráneo de la Logística y Transporte fue inau-gurado por Khaled Hanafy, Ministro de Aprovisionamiento, Co-mercio Interno y Logística de Egipto, Mohamed Choucair, Pre-sidente de ASCAME, Miquel Valls, Presidente de la Cámara de Comercio de Barcelona, Enrique Lacalle, Presidente del SIL, y Sixte Cambra, Presidente del Port de Barcelona.

La logística Latinoamérica cobró un protagonismo especial en el SIL 2014 con la celebración de la México, Cum-bre Latinoamericana de Logística y Transporte. Con el objetivo de reforzar los lazos de negocio existentes entre

Latinoamérica y el Mediterráneo, el SIL organizó el miér-coles 4 de junio este encuentro, que sirvió para debatir el presente y el futuro de las infraestructuras latinoa-mericanas con la participación de empresarios e insti-tuciones de México, Colombia, España o Portugal. La 3ª Cumbre Latinoamérica de Logística y Transporte fue organizada por el SIL con la colaboración de Puertos del Estado y estuvo patrocinada por Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, CAF (Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina) y El Economista. The Latin American logistics took a special relevance at SIL 2014 with the celebration of the 3rd Latin American Logistics and Transport Summit. With the objective of reinforcing the existing business relations between Latin Amer-ica and the Mediterranean, the SIL

organized this meeting on Wednesday 4th June, that debated the present and the future of Latin Ameri-can infrastructures with the participation of Mexican, Colombian, Spanish and Portuguese businessmen and institutions. The 3rd Latin American Logistics and Transport Summit was organized by SIL with the co-llaboration of Puertos del Estado, and was sponsored by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, CAF (Deverlopment Bank of Latin America) and El Econo-mista. El SIL 2014 contó con el mayor programa de conferencias del sector con sesiones que abarcaron todos los ámbitos de la logística y del transporte. Delante de este completísimo programa de conferencias “el SIL volvió a ser el salón de la logística total”, según palabras de Enrique Lacalle, Presidente del Comité organizador del Salón.

Más de 3.600 profesionales asistieron a las distintas conferen-

cias que tuvieron lugar dentro del Salón. El SIL Logistics Direc-

tors Symposium contó con 230 ponentes de reconocido presti-

gio nacional e internacional. Las salas que acogieron las distintas

jornadas registraron llenos de asistentes que pudieron actualizar

contenidos e intercambiar ideas y experiencias.

SIL 2014 had the largest conferences’ pro-gram in the industry with sessions embra-cing all the logistics and transport areas. With this really complete conferences’ pro-gram, “SIL became once again an all-em-bracing logistics event”, in the words of En-rique Lacalle, President of the Organizing Committee.

More than 3.600 professionals attended the different conferences

that took place at the Exhibition. SIL Logistics Directors Sympo-
