Although plans are not finalized, there will

be at least one dinner at the Treasure IslandYacht Club. Bloody Marys aboard CKingFun are planned for Friday to celebrate herreturn from the boatyard. Also on Friday, appetizers and potluck. If you plan on an-choring out in Clipper Cove, contact Charliefor permit information.

    GREAT NEWS FOR YOUR CLUB!

A new land lease with the City of Napa hasbeen approved by your Board of Direc-

tors at a special meeting on March 30. TheCity Council in executive session has ap-proved the lease and authorized city man-ager Parness to sign. Over the last severalyears, many hundreds of hours of volun-teer time expertise and effort have goneinto getting this completed. It is hard tomention some and not all who havehelped. THANK YOU. Thank you forsupport from community leaders formerMayor Ed Henderson, former councilman/member Ray Sercu, and former supervi-sor/member Harold Moskowite. The nego-

tiating team from NVYC include: Eliza-beth Frater, Steve Vartan, Jon Lander, and Clay Parker. Legal counsel was BetsyStrauss.Highlights include:

We have a land lease until 2022 withrent of $320 per month for 6 yearsthen $420 for 6 years.

At the start of the last year of the leasenegotiations must be entered into forextension and if agreement notreached, mediation is required.

The lease does not require improve-

ments for the public. The City may use our club 15 days a

year at our discretion. City must cleanclub and have supervising staff pre-sent.

The parking area is non-exclusive forboth public and club use.

Currently, the flood wall design by theflood district will hamper use of muchof the property. City will work withclub for a better design.

Congratulations to LarryWolfe and all the otherswho helped secure a leasethat we can live with. A greatmany of our club membershave worked hard over the pastyears to get us to this point andwe owe them a great deal ofgratitude. Larry was one of thehardest working this year andcarried the torch across the fin-ish line.
