The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation offers theCompetitive Essay Award for International Exchange inNutrition, Dietetics and Management through theWimpfheimerGuggenheim Fund. This award is given toprovide for the international exchange of needed nutrition,dietetic and/or management information for the benefit ofthe nutritional health of the world community. Ethics Opinion Available for Review and Comment
All Academy members and credentialed practitioners areinvited, and encouraged, to visit the Academy's memberwebsite to review the draft Ethics Opinion: "The Impact ofSocial Media on Business and Ethical Practices in Dietetics" An Ethics Opinion is defined as "an interpretation orapplication of the Academy/CDR Code of Ethics for theProfession of Dietetics by the Ethics Committee in responseto a specific ethics issue or situation facing dieteticsprofessionals in practice. These opinions will be available tomembers and credentialed practitioners to serve as aneducational guide for their conduct." The draft Ethics Opinion will be available for review andcomment until April 25, 2013. After the comment period, theEthics Committee will review all the comments and makefinal revisions to the Ethics Opinion before it is submitted tothe Academy's Board of Directors, HOD Leadership Teamand Commission on Dietetic Registration. If approved, it willbe published in an issue of the Journal of the Academy forNutrition and Dietetics in 2013. The Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition (BCFN)Foundation calls upon university students and youngresearchers from all over the world to develop innovativeideas and projects on the topic of Food and Sustainability.Submission of participating projects opened on March 1stand will continue until and including July 1, 2013. Thewinning idea will receive an award of €1,000 and theresearcher will have the opportunity to participate in a BCFNresearch project in 2014. The winner's name will also beincluded in the relative publication. The ten finalists ideaswill be presented at the 5th International Forum on Food andNutrition Milan, November 2627, 2013.
