Keeping in view the safety concerns of the visiting litigants, practicing advocates, Govt. Pleaders, Judicial Officers and staff of this Office of District & Sessions Judge & its Subordinate Courts to function from June 9 judgeship, a sanitization drive was organized with the help of Directorate of Health Services, A & N Administration and Port Blair Municipal Council alongwith full co- operation from the A & N Bar Association, Port Blair. During the sanitation drive, the entire High Court Building, Circuit Bench at Port Blair, District Court Building and the adjacent surroundings have been sanitized using chemical sprays. The medical team also enlightened the staff present about various ways to maintain day to- day vigil regarding safety measures while dealing with public and procedures to be followed during frequent sanitization of the court premises in future, a press release from District and Sessions Judge said here today. New Delhi, June 6 (PIB) After the announcement of the landmark decisions by the Government of India for reforms in the agricultural sector for raising the income of the farmers as part of the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the President of India has promulgated two Ordinances with the aim of giving a boost to rural India for farmers engaged in agriculture and allied activities. The ordinances promulgated are 'The Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion & Facilitation) Ordinance 2020' and 'The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Ordinance 2020'. The Central Reforms in agricultural sector President promulgates two Ordinances to help farmers & to boost rural economy Port Blair, June 6 The Union Finance Minister on 26th March, 2020 made an announcement that an ex-gratia payment of Rs.500/- per women PMJDY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana) account holder per month, will be given under PM Garib Kalyan Ex-gratia payment of Rs.500/- per women PMJDY account holder under PMGKY NABARD releases fund of Rs. 95.29 lakh Yojana (PMGKY) Package for three months starting from April, 2020. NABARD, as the designated pass through agency, had already released first installment of Rs. 63.53 lakh to the A&N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. (ANStCB Ltd.) for credit to the respective accounts of 6353 certified PMJDY women account holders @ Rs.500/-per month for the months of April and May 2020. As the second and final installment, NABARD has released Rs. 31,76,500/- on 3rd farmer to sell agriculture produce at a place of his choice at a better price by increasing the number of prospective buyers. A facilitative framework was also considered necessary for farming agreements. Thus the two ordinances have been promulgated The Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion & Facilitation) Ordinance 2020" will provide for the creation of an ecosystem where the farmers and traders enjoy the freedom of choice relating to sale and purchase of farmers' produce which facilitates remunerative prices through competitive alternative trading channels. It will promote efficient, transparent and barrier-free inter-State and intra-State trade and commerce of farmers' produce outside the physical premises of markets Government has been making comprehensive interventions to impart efficiency and effectiveness to agricultural marketing, with the aim of raising the income of the farmers. By recognizing the bottlenecks preventing the holistic development of marketing of the agriculture produce, the Government drafted and circulated the Model Agriculture Produce and Livestock Marketing (APLM) Act 2017, and also the Model Agriculture Produce and Livestock Contract Farming Act of 2018, for adoption by the states. When the whole ecosystem of agriculture and its allied activities was tested during the COVID-19 crises, it reconfirmed the necessity for the Central Government to speed up the reform process and to come up with a national legal facilitative ecosystem to improve intra- state and interstate trade of agriculture produce. The Andaman & N i c o b a r Administration had deputed special ships for their evacuation to the mainland. MV Nancowry has already sailed from Vishakhapatnam on June 5 with 420 such residents who will be reaching Port Blair in the morning of June 9. The first such ship brought back 87 residents from Chennai on June 1. All these passengers were kept in isolation in Transportation of stranded passengers by ship MV Nancowry with 420 passengers to arrive at Port Blair from Vizag on June 9 Passengers to be sent to Govt. facilities for isolation from disembarkation point government facilities till they were tested negative and thereafter they were released to their home for home quarantine for 14 days inclusive of duration of their ship voyage and isolation in government facilities. This is being done to mitigate any chance of transmission of virus from these passengers as they may have more interpersonal interaction with fellow passengers and are more likely to be infected. All the passengers of MV Nancowry will be similarly sent to government facilities for isolation from the disembarkation point and their samples will be taken on the same day. Subsequently, all asymptomatic negative tested passengers will be discharged from isolation to their homes for quarantine, as per the prescribed protocol. The symptomatic and positive tested passengers will continue to be kept under the government medical facilities as per their clinical symptoms. It has been decided by the Administration that the cost of COVID test, boarding and lodging in the government isolation facilities on arrival of these stranded passengers will be borne by the Administration. Moreover all asymptomatic passengers who are subsequently tested negative and who are residents of other Districts/ Inter Islands i.e. other than Port Blair and Ferrargunj will be kept in government facilities at the cost of the Administration till the first available transport to their homes, an official release said here today.
