As this is the last newsletter for the term I would like to thank everyone for their contribution throughout term 3. As a school we have just completed our school review with the Department which included an external reviewer, two other Principals and the School Council President and members of the staff. This was a thorough review of our school data and practices, with the school receiving a glowing recommendation for the work that it is doing, as well as setting some challenging targets for the future School Strategic Plan. The review looked at Achievement in Writing, Reading and Mathematics, Engagement and Well Being. They were particularly pleased with the reduction in absenteeism and lateness which is a major focus of the department in ensuring students are engaging in their work. The research clearly shows that students in attendance and ready to start the school day are more likely to succeed. I thank all those parents who have supported our Hook Into School Program. We will now set targets for each of these areas for the next four years as we strive to improve our delivery in all areas of the schools operations. I would like to thank all

The Woolworths Earn & Learn program has now ended for

this year The response has been fantastic and we'd like to thank you for your

participation and support. With over 15,000 schools and early

learning centres taking part this year, more kids will benefit than

ever before.

It's time to collect and return your Woolworths Earn & Learn

Sticker Sheets

Now is the time to return the Earn & Learn Sticker Sheets to

school.

As you know, our school has been participating in the Woolworths

Earn & Learn program. The program has now finished for this

year, so a big thanks to everyone who supported our school. We're

now at the important stage of the program where the Sticker Sheets

are collected and lodged as our Earn & Learn claim. We will then

be able to get new educational equipment for our school. The more

we collect, the more we can redeem. So this week, please send in

your Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheets and any loose Earn

& Learn stickers you may have. Remember to check your handbag,

the car glove box or they may be stuck on the fridge. Every little

bit helps. Thanks again for all your support.

Hi 1/2A this is Maddie the daughter of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. Well let me tell you the story of Book Week. On Monday the 24

th of August 2015 at 9:15am we got to get a grade 5/6 buddy. The class that came

to our class was Miss Johnsons grade, 5/6A. When they arrived we all sat down on the floor. Then Miss Johnson said to the year 6 boys “please pick a grade 1/2 student,” but none of the grade 6 boys chose me. Then Miss Johnson said to the year 5 girls “please pick somebody,” but none of them picked me. Finally Miss Johnson said to the year 6 girls “please pick someone” and somebody picked me. Her name was Dina. Then we had to sit down. Well is the story going good because there will be a lot more tales. Next we made a bookman. I had to read the steps to the whole class. Then we made our own book about me which we needed to make the book about our buddy. On Tuesday I was surprised and nervous to see what we were going to do. I figured it out we were going to do an ending about a fairy tale which was Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Mine took a long time to finish but eventually I finished in time. When I finished we had to make a front cover of Goldilocks getting chased. Then I went home I was thinking about what we were doing on Wednesday. When we came back to school on Wednesday we made a book review about The Very Cranky Bear. I finished just in time for lunch. On Thursday we made a spectacular newsletter about me I chose a t-shirt one it was so fun I almost burst. On Friday it was the best day ever. Firstly it was my dad’s birthday. Secondly it was dress up day and thirdly we had a parade in the stadium from 9:30-10:30.
