At the Board meeting this week the purchase of a Shelterbox was approved. The Board also approved, together with the Rotary Clubs of Boulder and Hannans to purchase three Shelterboxes from the money in the Joint Bank Account. It is hoped the Shelterboxes will be deployed to the Phillipines to assist those displaced from their homes after the devastating Typhoon that swept through there recently. Then on Wednesday night we will be participating in the City of Kalgoorlie- Boulder Lighting of the Christmas Tree celebrations. Having a Chocolate Wheel brings back memories of the days when the Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie was heavily involved in the Christmas Festival in Hannans Street. I attended the briefing session at Council last night and there are going to be quite a number of Community Groups who will be providing activities for those who attend this Community event that is growing in popularity more each year. The GSE Team from Denmark is being hosted by our Club at the end of March in 2014. We are still seeking members to host team members for the time they are here in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Club Bulletin - Issue 17 Monday 25 November 2013

What an amazing experience being a Rotary Observer with Interplast was for our member Anne Skinner. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Club members Anne.

It certainly made cooking all those sausages on Australia Day worthwhile. Your experience has made Interplast very real to our members.

Another week another induction! Welcome to the Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie Lin MacQueen-Henderson. We look forward to your company at our meetings each week and know you will enjoy being involved in both our meetings and activities.

As November is Foundation month and Rotarians reflect on the broader activities of Rotary, it is timely that we, and the other clubs, are focussing on the International aspect of Rotary.

Monday night we will be meeting at the Goldfields Camp School (drive around to

the entrance on Short Street) to attend a meeting facilitated by the 13 Youth Exchange students from District 9455 who are here as part of their Southern Goldfields Tour.

Don't forget it is an early start. If we can arrive around 5pm ready for dinner to be served at 5.30pm. If last year is anything to go by it will be a fun evening.

Then on Wednesday night we will be participating in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Lighting of the Christmas Tree celebrations.

Anne has been working hard on putting their program together and will give us an update at the Club Forum on 2 December.

Enjoy the rest of your week while you Engage Rotary, Change Lives.
