Welcome to St. André’s Parish! No matter who you are, where you’ve come from, or what brings you here, we’re so glad to have you with us. St. André Bessette (1845-1937) spent much of his life serving as the door-keeper of his religious community; like him, we strive to open doors for our neighbors to experi-ence the loving mercy of God. May Jesus fill your heart with his grace and peace!

From Fr. Joe…

Fr. Mike and I would like to thank you for all of your greetings and gifts this Christmas: those we can eat or drink, those we can spend and share, and—most of all—the Mass remembrances and promises of prayer. Your thoughtfulness and generosity mean so very much. We’re mighty grateful! I ask you to pray for Meagan Rousell, a parishioner here at St. André’s, who is currently on a mission trip to Belize (December 27-January 2). Meagan rediscovered her Catholic faith and was confirmed as an adult just a few years ago when she realized ―something was missing‖ in her life. A spark was ignited, and she felt the need to do more. So, she found Believer’s World Outreach and signed up to help share the Gospel and do some service in a very poor town in Central America during the Christ-mas holidays. ―I am still learning more and more about the Cath-olic religion,‖ Meagan wrote to me, ―but my faith is strong and with His help, I will be where I need to be. And this December, I am needed in Belize and I think there is no greater gift to give than myself.‖ I thought you’d be touched to hear her story, and I know that she and her fellow mission volunteers depend upon our prayers. As we approach the threshold of 2019, I wish you a very happy New Year! May the turning of the calendar be a new beginning of grace for you, and your year be marked by good health and good cheer. ah. There are choral reflections after each reading, as well as the assembly participating in the singing of well-known hymns and

carols. The service is about one hour in length. Join us as we end

the joyful season of Christmas with a flourish!

The Real Reason Why We Celebrate CHRISTMAS

Christians celebrate the birth of their Savior on this glorious night, Heaven was lit up by one star; which was truly a magnificent sight. Rejoicing the Three Wisemen bringing gifts for the new born king, Incredible gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh was what they would bring, So they journeyed far and wide to find where the Messiah would be, They came upon the Stable in Bethlehem in the town of Judea, and they all did agree. Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus were in the Manger, when the three Wisemen arrived, And thousands of years have passed; yet this story of Christ's birth is still alive. So " Jesus is the Reason for the Season"....

Keep Christ in Christmas... Wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

"There are three kinds of giving: grudge giving says, I have to; duty giving says, I ought to; thanksgiving says, I want to. The first comes from constraint; the second from a sense of obligation; the third from a full heart." Rev. Robert Rodenmayer

Sacrament of Baptism Parents who wish to have a child baptized should contact Rev. Joseph Giroux to make arrangements for the date and for a program of preparation. Parents are highly encour-aged to make arrangements at least three months before the child is born, as the Catholic Church encourages Baptism for infants as soon as possible after birth. Adults and older children (seven years or older) interested in Baptism or en-tering into full communion with the Catholic Church should inquire about the program of preparation (R.C.I.A.: the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). Sacrament of Matrimony A Catholic wishing to be married in one of our churches should contact one of the priests at least six months prior to the desired date in order to begin making arrangements. A program of preparation is required. The parish should be contacted before any other plans are made—for example, the wedding reception. Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick For those preparing for surgery, nursing home residents, or the homebound, contact one of the parish priests to make arrangements to be anointed. For those in the hospital (especially in the event of an emergency), ask the hospital staff to contact the priest on call.
