As a VLAIO IBN cluster initiative, Smart Digital
Farming aims at deploying economic potential in

Why do we need data for operational excellence?
Outlook on the world population in 2050
In order to keep up that growing pace, the global
Total Factor of Productivity (TFP) will have to
increase by an average of 1,8% per year.
From 1995 to 2002, the EU-TFP grew with 1,6% in
the EU-15. Thereafter, the EU-15 TFP in agriculture
dropped to 0,3% per year.
Between 2005 and 2013, the number of
agricultural holdings in Europe declined with 1,2
million. The trend did no stop so far.
Agri-food needs more than
just precision alone ...
it needs smartness on top.
